This is the single greatest pan I have ever owned. Pros: - Nonstick has been bulletproof, I thought the 'diamond coated' business was all marketing, but this pan does not stick to anything - Weight of the pan is properly offset by the handle - I put this in the dishwasher all the time, and I see no signs of wear - The lid fits perfectly - It's got a little dial on the lid to adjust how much steam you want to let out - It's oven safe - It cooks *SO EVENLY*. No other piece of cookware I've ever used has been so even. Cons: - It is expensive, and the price looks to have gone up since I first bought it. This pan is just about perfect for me. It is my daily driver and probably gets more use than all the other pots and pans in my kitchen combined. I have cookware from All-Clad, from Le Creuset, from Cuisinart -- and while they all make very good products, nothing among them touches this pan. I think because the name 'Swiss Diamond' is not really a brand you think of when you think of good cookware (I'll be honest: I thought it was the Swiss Army knife company, Victorinox), they were able to design a pan that met needs rather than desires. You buy Le Creuset because it's good cookware; and because it is striking to look at, it imparts a classical French cuisine ethos to your cooking; in this way it meets both a need (good cookware) and a desire (design and historicity of the brand). This Swiss Diamond pan feels designed purpose-first; the attention to how the pan weight is distributed when held by the handle, or to how the lid sits on the pan and how much wiggleroom is needed so that it sits neatly without rattling. I've been using this pan for the past 3 or 4 years and I'll likely be using it for the next 30 or 40.

The pan arrived in a factory box. I've been using this pan almost every day for various recipes (mainly eggs, sauces, meats) for the past couple of months. During that time frame I've only hand washed the pan after it has completely cooled down after every use using Dawn and a soft bristle brush. The mess washes out very easily and hasn't left stains or burn marks. The food doesn't stick and cooks fairly evenly. However, the pan has developed a couple of superficial surface scratches on it (I have only used plastic spatulas and no metal utensils whatsoever) but hasn't affected the non-stick capabilities of the pan. Overall, this is a well constructed non-stick pan that is easy to cook with and clean. I would recommend this pan. I will also update this review if the non-stick coating wears off and/or the pan develops any issues with functionality, durability or quality.

I used to buy ceramic pans which gave up the non stick ghost after 3 months of continuous use. We use this and it's larger cousin daily. Lots of aluminum on the bottom so it takes a while to heat up, but that metal spreads the heat out nicely. I rarely go over a 3 on my gas range. A soapy sponge and some water wipes off leftovers. Update 3/19/20 -> It's been 10 months of almost daily usage. As I was washing it this morning I noticed that the water was still beading on the surface. The cheaper ceramic pans would have been useless by now. In this case I seem to be getting the value for my money and am still pleased. Update 6/2/20 -> Still going strong and has paid for itself instead of going through multiple cheaper ceramic pans. The only think I've noticed is the coating is chewed up a bit on the top edge of the pan where the metal band of the lid hits if you don't put the lid on carefully. But that's not a cooking surface and not really an issue. I remain a very happy user!

I washed the pan/lid per directions then fried eggs on them. They stuck horribly. Then I remembered to season them and I used olive oil and placed the pan in the oven for 20 minutes. Then I washed as usual. Today I fried eggs again but I coated the bottom with olive oil and the pan worked great. Lesson learned: no matter what the pan you still need to use some type of oil/butter to prevent sticking…
