I Asked a Robot What I Should Smell Like. It Was Right.
Let’s rewind. I did something bold. Something desperate. Something modern. I asked ChatGPT to help me find a deodorant. Not just any deodorant — the deodorant. One that would align with my daily signature: Abbott’s Big Sky, that perfectly ethereal blend of dry stone, crisp altitude, and distant pine. A scent that smells like a glacier’s last exhale before civilization intrudes. A cologne that says, “I hike, emotionally.” And this robot — this silicon oracle — responded without hesitation: “Try Corpus. Third Rose. Trust me.” So I did. I paid $26 for a single stick of natural deodorant, which felt equal parts ridiculous and exhilarating. It arrived with packaging that whispered in Helvetica: “We’re better than your drugstore shame.” And I’ll be honest — I was skeptical. It’s aluminum-free. Baking soda-free. Practically confidence-free if you’ve been burned by natural deodorants before. But friends, this stick slaps. It sustains. It elevates the armpit from afterthought to curated terrain. ✨ Scent: Do not be fooled by “rose” in the name. This is not a Victorian doily in a stick. This is rose after the rain — clean, quiet, botanical. It meets Big Sky like a respectful partner: never overpowering, always complementary. Together, they form an ambient aura of “I grew up near a national park and process my feelings in fresh air.” 💪 Performance: Glides on with zero drag — soft but not greasy Doesn’t stain clothes or souls Holds up under Metro platform hell and high-stakes meetings Makes you forget you’re wearing deodorant until someone says, “You smell nice,” and you get to say, “Thanks, it’s $26 and emotionally grounding” No rash. No residue. No betrayal at 3 p.m. when the day tries to break you. 🧠 Psychological Impact: I used it once. I ordered a second stick during Prime Day even though I wasn’t close to running out. That is the behavior of someone who has found their signature scent guardian. That is scent-anchored identity formation. That is growth. This deodorant didn’t just keep me fresh — it restored a sense of personal dignity during the full-force swamp season that is summer in the DMV. My underarms no longer operate under duress. They flourish. Bottom line: Yes, I asked AI what to smell like. Yes, it suggested something absurdly priced. And yes — it was right. Completely, stunningly right. This isn’t just deodorant. It’s trust. It’s transformation. It’s the $26 I didn’t know I needed to spend to reclaim my underarms from chaos and let them thrive. Buy it. Pair it with Big Sky. Then tell no one your secret… except maybe your favorite chatbot.

Good choice for a natural deodorant
This is my favorite natural deodorant. It offers good protection, it feels lovely/ is smooth going on, and it dries fast. The scent is to die for. It works well but there are some days when I use a boost toward the end of the work day.

Smells Great + Intense Underarm Rash
Buyer be aware. The smell, application feel and overall packaging are solid. Honestly lovely experience until product was applied. I have used natural and EWG verified products before but never experienced the painful skin reaction of this product. -My skin is not overly sensitive. -Nothing this deodorant was used for 3 days with the same result listed below. -No other deodorant/antiperspirant used during trial of Corpus deodorant. After 1 hour of wearing Corpus deodorant, I noticed an intense burning sensation under my arms. Burning sensation started off feeling like too much caffeine (body temperature increase). After 4 hours, I noticed an intense urge to itch armpits. Brushed off feeling due to work priorities and various tasks. By the end of the day, I rushed home to clean armpit area and apply coconut oil. Was hopeful the coconut oil would sooth the overwhelming burn/itch. Also took an anti-inflammatory. 3+ days later the rash from product use is still bothersome. 10/10 do not recommend to a stranger/friend.

No green: very strong pine, rose, citrus. Californie: very very subtle lavender, rose, lemon .
This is for someone with less sensitive skin in my opinion. I started breaking out around day three of using this deodorant. Other than that, during that time it worked well. I would say it was average; comparable to a regular strength deodorant with aluminum. As far as the scent of the deodorant- I initially got the no green scent and I would honestly say it is very masculine. It has a very strong pine scent to it. It smells like pine might be the base scent along with rose and (maybe lemon) citrus. For comparison it is less jarring but on the same page as Irish spring soap in its scent. It does have some really good side notes to it (the rose and citrus) but the pine scent is the winner for sure. Since I did not personally prefer the scent I returned that for the californie (as listed on the container) or California. It is much more subtle and in fact for this scent I would consider this one unisex. But the scent is so light that you would need to open the lid and put your nose right up to it to smell it. Californie has a dominant lavender note and a subtle rose and an even more subtle maybe lemon note underneath(?). Of course, this is all my opinion based on what I believe it smells like. I could smell the no green as soon as I opened the plastic bubble wrap it shipped in ( the opposite of californie). If you are looking for a scent that is the more feminine of the two you might want to try californie. Otherwise there are other options available that if I had been able to tolerate this deodorant I would have gone on to try. This was a natural deodorant that did not leave residue either on the skin or on clothes and worked. That is, before I started breaking out.

Great Natural Deodorant
I got "The Botanist" so I'll start by trying to explain the scent. If you're like me, the little video they have that reviews the scent was not particularly helpful ("Smells like nature" did make me laugh a little), so as a person with no experience describing scents this is how I would explain it. Firstly, I do like the scent, and it isn't overwhelming. When you open up the deodorant you aren't hit with a scent, you either have to wave it around a little or get your nose right up in there to smell it. The first whiff you're going to smell citronella. Which makes sense looking at the ingredients again: "*Citronellol,*Geraniol" both of which come from citronella oil. I don't dislike citronella, but I do usually associate it with bug spray so that did surprise me a little to find in in deodorant. I guess bug spray does remind me of going into nature to be fair. I doubt the deodorant will have any actual bug repellent abilities though. After a couple sniffs you do kind of go nose blind to the citronella smell and start picking up the other scents. I really like the underlying scents, my best description of them is they're herbaceous on the side of floral. Not really floral, but herbaceous that's kind of leaning towards being a bit floral. And underneath *that* herbaceous scent is a kind of deeper more earthy scent that you kind of have to dig at to get. And the lingering tang from the citronella smell (or maybe that's the citrus scent kicking in?) on these underlying scents does remind me of the forest floor after rain. So while I'm kind of indifferent to the citronella smell in general, I do keep trying to smell this on me throughout the day to get to more of the underlying stuff. And I think if a deodorant keeps you coming back like that, it's a good sign of a good scent. And I will say the difference between this scent and the non-natural products is night and day. Comparing them back to back you do notice how the non-natural product is kind of flat and dimensionless in comparison. In general it's a nice gender-neutral scent. When this runs out I might try the "No Green" just to see what that is like. But I will have no problem coming back to this scent if I don't like that one. Now for a general deodorant review. In comparison to Ursa Major, this lasted longer on me. Results may vary, but after about 5 pm, Ursa Major would kind of just be gone. This scent does last longer, and even when I can't smell it any more later at night, I don't smell stinky after it was gone like I did with Ursa Major, so I didn't feel the need to top off. If I wore this to the gym, I can imagine it would be a different story, but for just going to work and only having to deal with work-stress sweats, this held up well. When you first put it on, it is a bit goopy. I'm not sure if I left it to dry for a bit if it would go away, but I don't have the patience or time for that in the morning so I've been just dabbing my pits with a wash cloth to get off the excess goop, and that seems to work. Bonus, this method let me test getting the deodorant off fabrics. I did notice the deodorant dried into a white crust on the cloth, but after a rinse that seems all gone so I don't think it left a stain. That was critical to me when picking a deodorant. A lot of natural deodorants are using coconut oil in their product, which is concerning to me because depending on the dye, oils can lift the dye from your clothing. So if coconut oil stains your clothes there's no getting that out because the coconut oil has *removed* the dye, not just layered another dye over it. I'm not sure if essential oils have the same effect, but since those are used as a scent in this product, theoretically they will be in very low concentrations and not enough to produce stains. If that changes and I do notice stains on my clothes, I will update this review.

Too sticky and tacky feeling
The scent is nice but it feels sticky/tacky on my skin to the point where it annoys me. I’m not much of a sweater so I can’t really speak to its effectiveness as far as odor protection but can’t say I’m a fan of it. I will not repurchase once I use this up.

Deodorant that works!
Good deodorant. Scent is great, not overpowering. Odor contolling and strong enough to last all day. I previously tried another aluminum free deodorant and it didn't last as long.

Leaks
I really wanted to like this product long term. For the first week it worked really well and had a nice smell to it. After one week it started to leak all of the essential oils out and it was not kept in a warm place. The smell has gone away and I have an oily substance to clean every day. I am currently still using the deodorant stick until I can find another one that works and keeps the smell. Not sure if this is what happens with others that have purchased, I could have gotten a bad batch or something. Just disappointing for the price I paid and this to happen.
