Great for intermediate French readers
This book is a collection of short stories involving a mischievous little kid living in France. The stories are funny, short and captivating and the illustrations are simple, yet great. I read a lot of fiction in French, and don't like English translations. Something is often lost in the translation. I recommend this book for French readers because there is no English and if you have a general understanding of French you will realize you know more than you think from books like these. Read the book, and have fun. The characters are funny, and charming and the book revolves around Nicholas and his antics with his peers. Each story is about 5-7 pages long. It will make you laugh and think about being a kid again.

Nice book but not for beginners
It's a very nice book and it arrived fast. I like paper books, I can't read on a screen for that long and this is a pretty good quality book. I bought this as a beginner book since I'm just learning French and this was recommended by people on the Internet and I have to say it's not very beginner friendly. You have to be at least B1-B2 level. I started it and it was a little too much so I moved on to an easier book I have. I will definitely get back to it and read once my French is better, can't wait!

Adorable and funny, a must-have!
I bought this for my French class a few years back. I love the French language but to be honest it's not the easiest and I forgot about half the things I learned, haha! But I still find myself picking this book up and reading it all the time. It's not for beginners, but the way it is written makes it easy to follow. You can just have a basic dictionary with you for vocabulary words and you're good to go! The stories about the little schoolboy Nicolas and his classmates are so cute, and the illustrations go perfectly with them. Any French fanatic should have this in their library!

Nice book, bad packaging
Loved the book, it was just as I was expecting it to be. However the cover is white and it came out a bit dirty, it might be because of the packaging... This was very disappointing since I wanted it to look brand new... Everything else was great;

Improve Your French with Nicholas!
These are engaging and humorous stories in French guaranteed to improve your French translation skills and perhaps even speaking skills. Nicholas is a hoot. The stories are short. This is a small book, but 150 pages long. Each story is about 6 pages long and has some illustrations. These would be great for the classroom. So there's about 25 stories in here.

Vive Le petit Nicolas!
If you haven't read Le Petit Nicolas in French, you're probably not French. That being said, if you are French, I encourage you to hurry up and read this classic book. Because it's so funny! That's a good reason. And if you're not French, but would like to learn conversational French with a bit of slang thrown in, Le Petit Nicolas will not disappoint. I use this to teach French conversation and my students love it and so will you.

Good for conversation & kid's idiomatic phrases
Just right for those who already know a little French. Written with a sense of humor. We used it to read aloud to become more fluent in our small group (4) of francophiles. We had to look up an occasional word or phrase, and learned that many words we already knew had double meanings, depending on context.
