bad pressing and handling
I had to return the first copy due to visible scratches and smears. The replacement copy was no better with pressing defects (visible divots), smears and fingerprints... Check your process Columbia!

Fantastic Reissue
I'm not going to comment on the music as such - readers likely know what this is, and why it's so interesting. Early Philip Glass works are indeed pretty close to what we have here, except the Riley pieces have more vitality, taking repetitive passages and infusing them with infinite variety. There's a liveliness here you don't normally associate with the category.I bought this reissue because the label, Cherry Red/Reactive have been doing an phenomenal job reissuing titles from the Tangerine Dream catalog (come on Virgin, give it up and let Cherry Red have access to your catalog!)As such this remastered edition sounds terrific, the music sounds pure, vibrant, and alive. The booklet folds out (think of a front cover as one panel - the fully unfurled booklet is eight panels in size, if that makes sense). The unfolded booklet contains a new, and lengthy article written by Sid Smith. It's a decent read too, and includes a reproduction of the original French release. All in all this is excellent - some might be bothered by the relatively short playing time (approx. 40 minutes total), but that's being a bit churlish when the music is this good. As reissues go, this is great. I bought the reissue of In C at the same time, well done Cherry Red!

Into the Twilight Zone!
A wonderful re-mastering of this all time classic. I always felt the title track was a mere introduction to a piece of music that lasted 24 hours. A few minutes in and you have entered another time zone, but sadly it only lasts about 18 minutes. I must have about 15 albums by Terry Riley, and this has stood the test of time. One of the better Esoteric reissues.

Still stunning after all these years
I owned this on LP years ago. What on earth happened to it? Half-inched or borrowed no doubt. I just happened to see this newly polished remastered edition and can happily report that it retains its power to delight. This came out originally in 1969!! It sounds great today; imagine what it would have sounded like then. Brilliant.

A classic of its time
I remember this as part of the background music used for the original (1978) radio series of the Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. One for reminiscing to.

Rainbow in Curved Air - electronic music
Bought this on Vinyl when first released (1969, the electronic version of Rainbow in Curved Air) and wanted the CD, still most enjoyable
