The African Elephant was great it was very sturdy and detailed I have it for display so I can't say anything about the paint but that it's great quality and it looks just like the picture :D

Too heavy
I bought this for my toddler grand daughter who loves playing with animal figurines. Unfortunately this one was way to heavy for her to play with.

Better for an older child who collects safari animals
It's a well made, realistic toy. Not really ideal for the intended child who is just two and loves elephants--it's too heavy, scaled too small to go with his other animals, and the tusks, tail and trunk are a bit sharp and pointy. Better for an older child who collects toy animals. But my grandson enjoys it anyway.
