A great book!
I love this book! My children had this book, and now that I have a grandchild, I got one for her. It explains perfectly why we do not celebrate Halloween. The pictures are vivid in color and kept my granddaughter’s attention.

Great explanation
We made the decision not to allow our kids to participate in Halloween anymore and we were met with some resistance from our son who is 8. His friends participate and he attends a Catholic school that hosts a trunk or treat event, so explaining that as Christians we shouldn’t participate was challenging to say the least. We all learned (parents included) so many details surrounding this celebration that do not align with our beliefs. The book basically takes you through a Q&A of most of the questions your children will ask you about why. It covered all of the questions my children had and they aren’t asking to celebrate anymore. I agree with another reader that I didn’t like the harvest party on Halloween night because I felt like that kind of disregarded all of the other things just described, but I still highly recommend the book.

A must have
I really love this book! I got it got my 2 year old and she was really engaged throughout the reading. (Made me read it to her twice actually) I would like to say, I read a 1 star comment here on amazon that warns parents not to buy it because their parents did not let them celebrate Halloween and were super strict and now they are athiest..let me encourage y'all. I too came from a household where Halloween was NOT celebrated and I am happy to say, I still believe in God and still refuse to partake in that holiday AND I am raising my kids the same way so don't be discouraged parents.I have ZERO complaints about this book.

Great book to read together as a family.
My girls have been taught since they were small the real meaning of Halloween. They are now 9 and 7 years old and I just wanted to buy the book after hearing great reviews about it to reas it with them. And I think what really caught their attention was the pictures and the simplicity of the story. It’s just a great beginner book for families to read together and to gift to other families. This is a great book to gift out in churches and schools.

~~ Much needed ammunition ~~
Presented in a way that children will understand this book features two children Jerry and Sarah. Jerry and Sarah see all their other Christian friends dressing up and celebrating Halloween and wonder, by asking their mom, why they can't do the same. What is the harm in it? Mom answers them very wisely in contrasting the origins and purpose of Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving whilst also going back in history and telling the children the origins of Halloween. ( I have to admit here that as a parent I did not know the full history so this was a learning session for me too.)As a family that is facing "Halloween" pressure for the first time this year, this book has been extremely helpful. In previous years we have lived out in the country so could avoid it for the most part. This year we are in a place where Halloween preparations are surrounding us as well as Christians who think it is all innocent fun. The children are asking why they can't take the hayride like they do at Christmas! If you are like us and would like a book to help explain it all to your children then I highly recommend this one. In fact I have just ordered another one to send to our grandkids! The only thing I do NOT like about this book is the fact that the family goes to church for a harvest party on the same night. I don't agree with this and would rather the night was not celebrated at all.

This is a must in a Christian household. We do not celebrate the devils holiday. My daughter loves this book. And hates the holiday.
