My daughter (4 years old) loves this!! I would have much rather seen a dry erase only with a hinge for a more secure drawing surface, but that doesn't seem to bother my daughter one bit. She loves all of the magnets, and has always loved to draw, so this was a no brainer to help with keeping her calm and content on car rides (which has been an ever growing problem lately). We also just ordered some clickable dry erase markers to prevent lost lids and fabric stains with the magnetic style that comes with the kit. I HIGHLY recommend that upgrade :). The only problem has been the chalk side, which is incredibly problematic in the car with dusting, so we opted to toss the chalk since this will primarily be used in the car.The magnets have worked well alone to keep her attention for 30 minute rides (basically our drive to and from home/school/work), but today she gets the click dry erase markers as well, which I'm sure will add that much more to her absorption to this, as she is a drawing fanatic :).I would definitely re-purchase and if anything I will add a hinge system and a handle so she can open/close this more easily for the dry erase side. Since we won't be flipping it there is nothing stopping me from adding a small handle on the chalk board side :)In a world filled with digital devices, it's nice to have an option like this that's hands on and sans batteries. We had tried the tablet route with some drawing apps for her, and this works MUCH better!

This is a great, portable set, good for hours of entertainment and creativity. It has a white magnetic board on one side and a chalk board on the other. Pieces are well made and the figures are cute. The price is certainly good!Do not buy the other zoo set. The pieces are way too small and the animals are all but impossible to put together. Frustrating even for an adult!

Innovative for little hands to be creative. Messes can be contained while exploring how to group items, draw and more.Only one suggestion. The wood needs to be splinter free. Be careful.

My daughter is 4 now, but we started with magnetic puzzles at 3. I do sit with her and help guide her encouraging her To use her reference booklet that’s included . Some pieces are very small, but we don’t mind them . It had a dry erase board and chalk board . She likes Both . It’s perfect for those indoor play days .

Thea kits are adorable. Produc it good quality and my twin grand daughters can keep in the car for trips. Would buy as a gift again!

I feel like this is targeted at kids 3 and up. I bought it for my not quite 2 year old intending to play with it during long potty training days. He doesn’t understand what the magnets are (because a cow is in 5 pieces, and chicken is in 3, etc) and as someone previously mentioned the wood is unfinished and not very smooth so there is danger of getting a splinter. And I thought the lid slid in, but it just sits on top, so it’s not very portable- and it can be tricky to get off (another opportunity for splinters). The chalk board is a little too slick to be like an old school board but it works & my kid doesn’t notice, but the quality overall did not meet my expectations. We’re keeping it but I’ve literally put 5 pieces in the box for him to play with (and they’re all animal heads 😂 ) and a piece of chalk w/the little eraser. It will probably come in handy when he’s a little older.

If this product were any higher than the current price I would probably say don't buy. However it's very cute and well made. It is very affordable compared to similar products that are out there. The magnets are cute. I re-gifted this product by taking out the childish magnets and making my own with magnet sheets. I must mention that I took a small piece of sand paper and cleaned up the edges. It only took me 30 seconds. That will probably throw people off but again the price here is right and its worth it.

I LOVE this! My 1 year old is obsessed with magnets so I got him this to use with other magnets I have. I am saving the magnets, eraser, chalk, and marker that came with this until he is at least 2. The reason this product is recommended for 3+ is because these accessories are definitely choking hazards. The good news is you can just save them and use the board and stand from pretty much any age! The only downside is there was a sticker on the board that left residue when removed, and the chalkboard side is very cheap. Still I highly recommend this!
