Exellent design for it's easy to use
I love this little kitchen countertop food waste basket bin. I put my vegetable and fruit scraps there and then bring the things inside to local compost sites. This basket bin is compact and easy to rinse off insides stuff. The only thing I wish to be improved is the material. If the material could be a little more sturdier, it would be even better. But even so, I still love this well designed little bucket for my kitchen!

Great for food prep waste and green recycling!
Our city recently started green recycling and provided us with totes that you can hang inside the cabinet. It's a bit unwieldy so I wanted something smaller and easier to access.I love this waste bin! I keep inside my somewhat large sink and open it when I need to trim vegetables, meats, etc. Our after-meal waste is easily scraped into it. Morning coffee grounds are dumped in. Tip: after emptying and washing the bin, I fold up a paper towel and place it at the bottom. It still allows liquids to drain but holds small items like coffee grounds inside. (Yes, paper, not plastic, is allowed in our green recycling.)I would like the lid to be slightly easier to slide off. OTOH, it stays on securely so there's that. It also keeps the smells inside.I don't cook every night and there's just two of us so I can go 3-4 days without emptying the bin into our larger city-supplied bin.

Small Food Waste Container
This small container is well made and keep the items inside from smelling up the kitchen where I use it and keep it.Only problem is if you do not empty it fairly regularly, like before it gets filled, things start to mold.

A good thing to have with CA new composting law
California now has a new composting law that requires all waste companies in the state to accept and compost all kitchen waste. We’re very happy to comply and this bin makes it very easy. There’s a draining basket inside the bin with a handy handle so you carry the whole thing out to the green bin, empty the basket and pour any liquid in the bottom of the bin onto a nearby plant. I just keep mine on the counter top so it’s very convenient. We have a vacation home where the same law applies but we’re not always there so we have a bin there too. When we leave we just put the bin into the dishwasher and run it so we don’t come back to stinky mess. So far so good with the dishwasher. We don’t dump the water out there because the raccoons are legion and we don’t want to encourage them.

Compact and convenient
I freaking love this thing! I was using plastic produce bags or a bowl to collect vegetable scraps for the compost pile, and I kept thinking “there has to be a better way.” I wanted something relatively small that could sit on the counter, and I didn’t want to have to use bag inserts. The slotted inner basket is perfect, and I absolutely love the handle for carrying it outside. It is very easy to clean, attractive, yet inconspicuous. Big thumbs up from me.

Good looking but filmy
I like the look and the pull out basket. However it is filmy and not well build. When the basket is full ( about the weight of 3 oranges) the handle buckle. The connection between the handle and the bin are filmy too.

It works
It works! Sturdy air tight and not so big just enough for food that would stinky up the house. Fish bones or table scraps, we line ours with a plastic bag so easy to remove when it’s time to take out the trash
