I have had this product for only a few days now but I am delighted with it! It satisfies my needs completely. What do I like about it? I simply step on the scale and I quickly get a large digital readout that lights up and shows my weight to a tenth of a pound. The numbers are large, so I can read them with or without my glasses on and in dim light. Once the scale has made a final decision on my weight, it blinks twice. Shortly after I step off the scale, it turns itself off to save the batteries, which should last a long time, even if I step on the scale several times a day, like a jockey or prize fighter might. I also received a free tape measure for measuring my waist. I have lost a few pounds in the short time I've had this scale just because of its ease of use and its novelty compared to what I had before. Previously, I had an analogue scale that I bought about 40 years ago and hadn't used for years because it was so hard to read. The thin pointer was never at zero when I wanted to use the scale, so I had to pick up the unit and turn a knob to reset the pointer to zero. Then when I stepped on the scale, I could only see that my weight was somewhere around 165, but could never get a precise reading. Both the pointer and the scale were hard to see, even with my glasses on. So this new, modern scale is a huge improvement! It has a thick transparent surface that you step on that shows the pattern of the bathroom floor beneath most of the scale.My only criticism is about the instruction sheet that came with it. There's no text about how to insert the four batteries that are shipped with the scale, just a sketch. I believe that the sketch incorrectly shows how the batteries are to be inserted. I did it wrong the first time following the sketch. To do it right, you must insert one battery with the flat (-) side against the visible spring and then insert a second battery with its flat (-) side touching the plus side of the first battery. Then you must do the same thing in the second slot with the second pair, but the spring for that second pair is hidden and is in the opposite direction, so you have to insert the second pair in the opposite direction to the first pair, rather than in the same direction, as the sketch seems to show. The units of weight don't have to be shown in pounds, but that is the default option, and I had no need to change it. All I had to do for set-up was to insert the batteries correctly and remove two small pieces of shipping carboard to allow the scale to work. I had no way of measuring the accuracy of the scale against a known reference scale, but the readings it gives seem close to what I got in my doctor's office.

Hi- I have some apologizing to do...I meant to write this review many weeks ago. Now it's finally summer and I am getting to my list of all the things I didn't do. The good news is that I have had more time to evaluate this product and I like it even better now! First of all, the scale is accurate. It is by far the most accurate scale I have ever owned in its price range (short of the doctor's scale, but only just) I have two of these scales- one on the second floor and one on the third floor of my house, and they are consistent within about one-tenth of a pound with each other as well, right out of the box. The numbers are huge- I want to weigh before I put in my contacts and without my glasses (because they weigh so much :o) and I can actually see the display. My eyes are extremely nearsighted, and this is the first scale I have ever been able to see without my contacts in. Most of the time, I cannot read a standard scale accurately with only my glasses on. If you have a really high prescription, you know what I mean. That was the reason I ordered this scale. I have since come to appreciate the accuracy of this scale, the clean lines AND the fact that you cannot play dancing games on this scale to change your weight display. It keeps me honest. This scale is also a lot more forgiving of slightly unbalanced floors than other digital scales that I have had in the past. I live in a beach style house on piers, and even if I move the scale around to a different part of the floor, the weight is consistent, within one or two tenths of a pound. My favorite part regarding this scale, however, is the fact that the first one I ordered had an issue right out of the box. It worked just fine, but the glass plate was crooked- it had slipped noticeably off the base. I tried it out anyway, and nearly kept it because I liked it so much. Instead, I ordered another one with the intent to return the first one after the other one arrived. When the company recieved my return information and an explanatory e-mail, they not only took the scale back quickly, but sent me another one free of charge and offered to take the second perfectly working scale back so that I paid nothing! I have had good experiences returning on Amazon, but this was the best experience I have had, especially with a company that was not directly Amazon. If you order a lot from Marketplace sellers, you know just what I mean... I kept both the second scale I paid for and the free replacement. It has now been nearly 3 months since my order and I am very happy with them both!

I've tried many bathroom scales, simple ones, ones that cost a fortune and connected with my mobile, others that weigh weight, fat, water, etc, all without fail were inaccurate. I could stand on them and five minutes later do so again and weigh half a stone lighter, in one case two stone lighter, this on a hard level stone floor, without moving them. But these are different.When I bought these everything changed, once calibrated which takes a few seconds, place them on the same floor and they always way the same. They've helped me lose weight, knowing the pounds im losing are really coming off. They have a very large stable and flat platform, you can't cheat, believe me I've tried, if you stand further forward, or back, lean forward, or back, or side to side they always weigh the same. I'm not well and am unsteady on my feet so find it hard to stand still for any length of time, this doesn't matter. The window showing your weight is large and clear and easy to read whatever your shape or size with a bright blue backlight.Out of the many scales I've tried as long as you have a hard, stable piece of floor to weigh yourself on these will stay accurate and true, without any nasty surprises at hospital, or the doctors, as these scales match those readings.The only down side, forget using it on carpet flooring, even with a hard floor underneath, these go totally bonkers on carpet, taking four stone off, I wish!!!!Finally my search is over, simple, straightforward and the only thing that matters, accurate every time.

These were (yes, *were*) really great scales. But they're made of glass - and not the shatterproof kind. So if you drop them, be prepared for it to take some time to clear up... Stupid of me, but it never occurred to me what would happen if I accidentally dropped them. I was just moving them across the floor - must have lifted them no more than 6 inches - and they slipped through my fingers and fell into a thousand pieces.

These scales are very demanding. You have to calibrate them on a very hard surface in one particular place and then never touch them again. From surfaces: bathroom tiles (very big tiles 30x30cm each) work. So that you can place the scales on a single tile. Other surfaces like carpet, linoleum, even hard wooden floor - forget it, it doesn't work. So for me, I had to pick a single bathroom tile and calibrate. When you move them onto a different tile you get a different result. So using these scales is a proper ritual. They also have this 5 min memory (as mentioned in other comments), which fakes their precision. So I guess this is why so many positive reviews, people just get tricked into thinking that scales work and are precise. After you weight yourself, you can move the weights around and they will show the same result. If you calibrate again, you can see that they hide 2-3kg difference this way. So very unhappy. Just wasted 20 pounds. Can't believe these are best reviewed scales on amazon.co.uk

Very good scales especially as I am dieting and able to see the results of my diet easily.

I wanted a weighing machine where I didn't want to have to wear my spectacles in order to see my weight. The readout with these scales is large enough to be able to do it and I'm very happy with them. The only downside is that they do not work on a carpeted floor. I've had to put a flat piece of wood under them to be able to use them.
