Update: I added full stars for the Comfort of this futon mattress. I’ve been sleeping on it and getting the best sleep so I wanted to update my review. I can ignore the details of what I wasn’t happy with because this provides great back support. The other issues don’t show, I was just disappointed in the craftsmanship but altogether, this mattress goes above in living performance on the day to day and makes up for the faults. Bed sheets hide the details and doesn’t matter ultimately for how well it performs as a product. I am glad I have it now. Just keep in mind so you’re not unhappy. I will leave up my old review. But I do really love the mattress now for the comfort of it; I highly recommend My old review said this: This futon? It looks like they throw stuffing in a zippered bag. Maybe their crew quit. At least sew it up and skip the zipper guys. And I ordered ivory. This is clearly red. Update: **Added 2 stars; even though I’m unhappy with the discrepancy in the order on my choice of color and the detail craftsmanship, I slept on it and the firmness and thickness is very comfortable. It seems that their production line must be cheaply maintained. I’ll keep this futon covered so as not to clash with all my things and I will never unzip this bag again

This futon mattress is very comfortable. I'm using it as a couch but it is comfortable enough to sleep on. The color is a bit lighter than pictured but I have a waterproof mattress cover on it as well as a waterproof pet cover so it's not really an issue. The fabric is soft but seems a little thin. This should not be a problem to me since I'm covering the mattress anyway. The only issue I have is with how UPS handled the package. The box was ripped open on one end with about a foot or two of the unprotected mattress exposed. Thankfully it wasn't torn or very dirty when I opened it. I give 5 stars for the product itself as Amazon is not responsible for how UPS handles shipping. I recommend this thick mattress and would purchase again.

I was originally looking for a couch, but with inflation and bird flu, I don't know if I'll have to go from a two bedroom to a one or one plus den. I decided to keep the frame and look for a mattress. I came across this. The price was better than a new couch and the reviews seemed well. It is heavy and there appeared to be oil stains or something of that nature. I let it decompress or whatever for 72 hours. It feels comfortable to sit on. We'll see how it goes.

The only thing good about this futon is the color - the red is lovely! Other than that, I can't imagine something worse. No value at all. Poor quality. Came stained. There is literally no support. I could feel the slats in the futon frame under me, and I'm not super heavy. It's maybe 6" thick at best. Just stay away!!!!!!!!

I purchased this futon mattress expecting it to expand to the advertised 12 inches, but it only reached about 9–10 inches even after several days. While it's moderately comfortable and seems to offer decent support, the fact that it never fully expanded was a letdown. If mattress height is important to you, either for comfort or aesthetics, you may want to look elsewhere.

Super easy to take out of the box and set it up, it arrived days ahead of schedule (which was VERY pleasing!). I bought this to be a couch in my craft room that can be converted into a bed for company to sleep on. Initially it is a little hard to form into a couch on my futon frame because it is very firm. But I don't think that's a bad thing. I see that as a sign of it's high quality and I believe that over time it will stay in the folded couch position easier. I of course tested it out in the bed/sleeping position and it was WONDERFUL! The perfect amount of firmness and I couldn't feel any of my frame poking through. In short - this is a high quality mattress at a decent price. Well worth the money and I would highly recommend it! I love it and am very happy I chose this one to buy.

Bought this to sleep on nightly, I was pretty paranoid I wasn't gonna like it and I didn't feel real great about getting a mattress on Amazon, but I'm admit it's pretty comfy and I would buy it again. Also, don't be alarmed by the strong oil smell after opening it, goes away after like ~2 days.
