Happiest 9yo ever!
My 9yo daughter wanted a chemistry kit for Christmas and this is by FAR her favorite gift. Even her 11yo sister was impressed, which is hard to do. She was so excited she literally teared up. This takes common household products but includes them with quality tools and very engaging, effective lab lessons set up to build a knowledge base rather than just doing a few "tricks". It is very well designed, both girls and boys will love this, but it seems to speak to a common trait young girls have for writing and organizing. I like that she'll still have quality tools that are worth keeping long after the included supplies are gone and that those supplies are common enough to be easily replaceable. Yes, there are many great completely gender-neutral chemistry kits out there. But I LOVE seeing one intentionally trying to keep girls included and engaged in the sciences. And guess what? Boys will love it, too. I will absolutely be looking at their other kits!

Best science kit for young girls!!!
This is the perfect science kit for young girls to begin with. My daughter is 9 years old and I constantly catch her getting into the food coloring and trying to mix her own concoctions. We have used other science experiment kits that had good experiments but never this young girl friendly. My daughter also loves fizzy bath bombs. That being said, this experiment kit is amazing because it's not just any science kit. It combines science with fun food coloring and things that fizz. This is the perfect combination to really keep her attention and nurture her growing love of science. The best part is that even if you make mistakes using the kit, because it combines art and science, you'll still come out with something beautiful and amazing.....Colorful Concoctions! I just want to say, " Great job to the moms that created this kit. We can't wait to see what you come up with next." -Lindsey, DeLand FL

Best science kit
We have tried several science kits and this one has been the best. I bought it because it comes with space to journal about the experiments, and my daughter loves to journal. It also comes with pencils and a sharpener, and chalk, to label and draw your experiments. The experiments are designed for a little older kid, so they are more interesting than your basic ”watch baking soda and vinegar make bubbles” experiments. My 10 year old can do them herself and then shows them to me. I actually learned something from her with this kit. I would recommend this for any tween who likes science. Tip: you can buy a small sized grown-up lab coat for about $15 that really compliments this kit and makes my daughter feel like a pro.

Great entree for the aspiring girl scientist
With a slogan “made by scientists, who are also moms,” this is a great kit for young ladies curious about the world. The kit comes with almost everything you need (you have to supply the rubbing alcohol and a piece of fruit). The equipment is all kid-friendly and easy to figure out. It was especially smart to have a chalk mat, a black surface where you can work, but also label things with a piece of (included) chalk. The first experiment is to separate DNA from a strawberry. We didn’t have a strawberry so we used an orange. It still worked well, though there weren’t as many DNA strands as in the picture with the strawberry. The instructions were excellent and it was easy to follow the steps. After finding the DNA strands, the instruction book explains what everything means. The next lab experiment is to do the same thing, but with cheek cells. This worked well, too, exactly as the instructions laid out. This kit is fun and educational, with lots of follow-on food for thought. I definitely recommend it for any girl remotely interested in science (and maybe even for someone who isn’t because it is sure to arouse curiosity!)

Great STEM gift for young girls
I actually bought three of the Yellow Scope Chemistry Experiment kits for two great nieces. Two of the Foundation of Chemistry Kits, they can use at home, with parental supervision, to get psyched about experiments and research. And I ordered the kit on Paper Chromatography for my great niece that loves arts and crafts. I have no idea why all the cool STEM educational toys are geared for boys. I don't think it helps the girls to get one more gift that involves making friendship bracelets and drawing fairies and unicorns. Thank you for trying to light a spark in a young girls mind! I only wish I could have found toys like this in the 60's & 70's!

Great gift for any kid!
Amazing product, came with all sorts of experiments and a book to keep notes in. Gave this to my 9 yearold daughter for Christmas and she loves it. Some of the experiments require hot water, so an adult needs to help. I would also like to add that this is gift able for any kid of any gender. Its geared toward girls and has a bunch of facts about women scientist through out history and was developed by a female phd. But I highly encourage any one to buy this product!

Great kit that sparks curiosity and imagination!
My three girls love this. My eldest is 6 and she has been having a blast. The labs are easy to follow for her and she loves the aesthetic of the kit and the lab notebook. Everything is very high quality. The lab notebook is excellent and Does a wonderful job of guiding the experimenter towards asking her own questions and thinking about how the principles apply outside of the experiment. In example, after doing a few of the citric acid/ sodium bicarbonate experiments she asked me what would happen if we juiced a lemon into the sodium bicarbonate. Luckily this set comes with more material than is required for the experiments so the kids are free to pursue such questions. I highly recommend this kit!

Too pricey for what’s included
Great introductory book and overview but most of the items have to be procured from home. The plastic supplies (beaker, pipette, safety glasses and plastic mini cups) plus book are not worth the price if you have them from other experiment sets.
