The Private Files of the Shadow

Return of DC comics Shadow Stories
I remember collecting the Bantam and Pyramid reprints of the original Shadow pulp stories. It came as a very pleasant surprise when I learned that DC comics was releasing brand new Shadow stories. Needless to say I bought all that I could find. Sadly I lost those comics years ago. I've gone to comic stores and used book stores seeking them but, alas no luck. This hardcover collection covers the first few issues as well as a separate new story at the end. I've read and re-read these stories constantly. I think that Walter (Maxwell Grant) Gibson must be smiling somewhere. These stories could've come from his typewriter and the artwork never disappoints.

The Shadow Lives !
Classic graphic interpretation of the slouch hat avenger, known as The Shadow. Masterfully drawn by Michael W. Kaluta whose rendering of this character is the one most fans adore. Great StoryTelling and really captures the spirit of that Pulp Era of Heroes. Get this, if you can't afford the original comics, since they were printed in the 70's and might cost you a pretty penny. Since, I am a artist interested in this type of adventure stories, its great reference for me as well as entertaining. I don't think you be sorry you got this one... So go ahead and treat yourself... Because.... The Shadow Knows !!

Another great series cancelled by DC in its prime
These stories by O'Neil and Kaluta are classics. I remember how ground breaking they were for the 1970's and enjoyed reading them again in 2015. Kaluta's artwork has an almost 1930's feel to it, giving the stories an almost time-traveling nostalgia. The stories done by the other artists in the 1970's run are crude by comparison and not really worth hunting down. DC blew it when they cancelled the O'Neil / Kaluta partnership.

This is a great collection of stories
This is a great collection of stories, well reproduced, with an additional story created just for this volume.. Kaluta's work is phenomenal.

The Shadow knows...comics.
A fun repackaging of the earliest DC Shadows, with a new Kaluta Shadow tale you can't get anywhere else. Worth it if you can find it.
