Looks like a GM, tastes like a GM,
We wanted to put a younger alternator on the diesel boat. This also required tapping the diode trio for a tach signal as none appeared to be readily available with similar cost. I do note that the brush holders may be slightly different sized than an OEM GM but the case opened up and went back together just fine. The unit's output is also fine on first test run. We look forward to many hours of success with this unit and will rebuild the older one for a spare. This 7127 was a workhorse of GM and was used in loads of other applications. I do note that we had to switch the dual belt pulley to the older one due to a slight size difference on the old diesel engine. No issues with that either.

Exactly what I ordered = fit perfect - thank ypu.

This thing really alternates!
Using the theory of conductance and reluctance this device is able to mediate the opinion of electrical impulses into storage, capacitance, salsa-dance, and voodoo-trance. Works like a charm and also fits a 1969 Bentley T1!

Smoked after 20 minutes run time
I have had a few of these and this was the first one that was bad. Added it to a street rod build on a small block Ford. Wiring was correct. (Hard to get it wrong) Alternator was noisy from the first start. Ran 10 minutes to break in new cam. made sure belt tension was correct. Started smoking ten minutes into the next start. Bought in Oct 19 and did not start until Feb. 20, so I am out of the warranty window.

Works great and makes over 80A
Purchased the 63A unit. Received it fast and hooked up to test it. It made over 80A! Doesn't take much to excite it either. Most 1 wire alternators need a little rpm to start making power. This one self excites just off idle. Highly recommended. Thanks!

Works Great in My 1971 International Travelall
I don't normally leave reviews, but this alternator warranted one. This installed perfectly in my Travelall with a 392 V8 and mounted right up with no issues. It's listed as a 1 wire, but you can throw a nut on the other threaded port for your ground and then purchase the AC Delco pigtail and take out the rubber stopper on the alternator which will expose the connectors for the pigtail. Wire the red connector on the pigtail to your F wire coming from your external voltage regulator and you're good to go. Yes, this alternator has an internal voltage regulator, but I'm not seeing any issues with the external regulator behind it. I've tested 13.9V all over the vehicle so it appears to be solid. My setup requires double pulleys so it was an added bonus to have those already installed. They work PERFECTLY with the stock belts and tensioning was a breeze. Would definitely recommend for an International Travelall/Travelette.

verify your belt size
the price was nice, duel pulleys. well made and works well true 1 wire and doesnt drain battery when not in use. keep in mind the pulley is for 3/8 belts and my tractor used a 1/2 belt. this made issues with slipping pulley. i didnt see in the add that its for 3/8 v belts. it did bolt in pretty good to a fordson major '57. would buy again, but verify your belt size.
