Whisper Quiet and Highly Stable
This review is meant to inform those who wish to use this air conditioner in a home audio studio or home office, which were my two use cases. The hOmeLabs 12,000 BTU air conditioner was packaged very well, easy to install, and came with a user's manual that I would classify as well above-average. The unit itself is classy - I really enjoy the self-flipping vents, and the wheels enable one to maneuver the thing with an almost unnecessarily high degree of control. I swear the thing handles better than most shopping carts do. Despite its power rating, the unit swings into action very gently. This means I don't have to worry about any power swings resulting from operating the unit, making it perfect for use in high-amperage settings such as server rooms, recording studios, music practice spaces, etc. This unit had to do double-duty as a portable unit that could be moved between my home recording studio and my home office. In the home office setting, my main functional requirement was achieving the quietest-possible operating volume levels. The goal was to be able to operate the unit on the "low" setting while in online meetings, without bothering other participants or causing audio clarity issues. To make matters worse, I employ a U87 microphone on my voice during online meetings, which I was eager to keep in-use.Luckily, the air conditioner is a wonderful performer in this regard, and online meeting participants have informed me that my room remains as quiet as it was without the AC running. All in all, I am a happy customer and would strongly recommend this unit to professionals who work from home, especially when noise concerns are front and center.

Quiet with cooler nights
Bought the 12000 BTU unit and can say it’s way better than the Honeywell 10000 BTU I bought about 5 years ago. This one makes less noise but a little disappointed with the amount of air flow. The sacrifice is less noise with less air flow but it does put out much more cooler air than the other. I called hOmelabs customer service to enquirer about 12000 BTU Amp usage before ordering because my 2nd floor bedroom uses 15 Amp outlets. They said 9.6 Amps so I ordered the unit. The safety information sticker on AC says 11.25 Amps but didn’t cause problems so works fine without tripping the circuit breaker. I believe the sticker reflects the surge output of 11.25 Amps and runs at 9.6 but it would have been nice if customer service stated that when I called and asked. They had to look it up via technical department. Gave me a little panic when I unboxed the unit and looked at the stickers. Overall I’m very happy with the AC unit and it arrived the next day after ordering (free delivery) so I was a win win for me. My bedroom is about 400 square feet with high ceiling so takes at least an hour to cool things down in there. I have no complaints since the older unit took longer with much more noise with vibrating floor I can hear from downstairs, which was very annoying while trying to watch TV.

Works great but exterior vent need functional and appearance upgrade
Unit performs as expected, relatively quiet. Cools well. My only complaint, and it’s pretty significant is that the outside does not have any rain cover or grill to prevent birds or critters from entering. Nor do they have accessories to buy. The overall general exterior appearance is unattractive.

Works well, but customer support number is defunct, and has been defunct for a while
This AC works well, is fairly quiet, but forget calling customer support if you have questions. I bought one unit 2 years ago, and liked it. I recently tried to contact the customer support number, and it is disconnected. I recently bought another unit 2 weeks ago, and the same defunct customer support number came with the unit. I used the email to ask my question, and it took them a WEEK to answer, and then to only refer my basic question to an "engineer", who then took a few days to get back to me. So...don't count on customer support here.

12,000 BTU? Don't believe it.
and it's going to cost an arm and a leg to return the darned thing. They won't pay return shipping and you can't drop it off at Amazon.TOTAL MISTAKE. READ THE REVIEWS. DO NOT BUY.I used to have a 10k BTU window air conditioner which kept my INSULATED 15x20x8 garage space cool enough to work even through the heat of summer. Not this one. Listed as 12,000 BTU (and it draws about 11 Amps so it SHOULD be at least 10k), you can barely feel the cool air coming out. I ran it for about 6 hours and, while it drew out about a half gallon of humidity, temperature differential was ONLY about ten degrees with the outside temps (about 95F).Tried it again on a cooler day, later in the evening, outside temp about 85F, inside would NOT go below 80, and it felt like it.Not acceptable. I tried canceling my return, to return as broken, nope. Won't work either.Space I needed it for was in central Tennessee where I usually use a 6k BTU window air conditioner to bring a well-insulated guest "house" measuring 16x30x8 (TWICE the garage of my home on the east coast) to temps during the day, 95+F and relative humidity of, well, central Tennessee and it gets cool enough inside THAT space I need to work in long pants and a shirt 'cause it's chilly. For those of you for which this is working just fine, maybe you didn't buy a lemon. Good on ya.SO sorry I bought this. It's like throwing away $85 just for trying their product.I think you will be too.

Amazing customer service provided by seller
I had a horrible shipping experience due to package delays but the seller came through and provided the best experience I could’ve asked for. With the amount of customer service provided, I have plenty of confidence in purchasing product from hOmelabs in the future. The AC unit is quite big and heavy (but is typical of these high BTU units of its class). But the setup is easy. It is very quite compared to its competitors and is able to cool down a 300sq ft room in a very short amount of time. I’ve tried many portable ACs before (LG, Toshiba) but this is the best overall by far. I value noise value a lot and this unit has exceeded my expectations in that front.
