Runs like a champ!
I bought this fountain in April 2025 and put it in a DIY birdbath. It is now Nov. 2025. This fountain has been great! It's location has full sun all day. I love how it comes on in the morning and goes off in the evening. On a partly cloudy to cloudy day it works intermittently based on the amount of sun it gets. As soon as it gets some light it comes on, even new out of the box. It does not have an internal battery to store energy but that's fine with me. It turns off when flipped upside down for cleaning. To maximize performance and life clean it and the filter every other week or so. I have not needed to use the extra filter because the first filter is pretty easy to clean. For a little fountain, the water pressure is superior, shooting water as high as 15 inches or more depending on the nozzle. With some nozzles the spray can be wide enough that you need a pretty wide bowl to catch the water--like 15 to 20 wide. Comes with several different nozzles. I had to resort to using no nozzle and allow the water to gurgle up from the center of the fountain and flow over solar panels to keep the water in the bowl. Eventually I'll get a bigger bowl. In spite of the fact that I have accidentally allowed the bowl to dry up three or four times, and the poor little fountain keeps running with no water, it still functions like a champ!

Works well, really reasonably priced.
So an update about eight months later. For $10 I didn’t expect them to last that long, so eight months is about what I expected. I went with a little different solar model that has the bubblers instead to see how those work better So just an update after owning it for a couple months and it continuously being on in my 30 gallon horse trough. I’ve only had to scrub out the trough once in two months from algae. Prior it would be at least every 10 days. Pretty amazed at this little item. As others have stated, this does not have a battery where it retains power overnight, but for 10 bucks what do you want? Long as it has light and it doesn’t even necessarily have to be direct sunlight, it works to some extent. I keep it on medium to low where the fountain works just well enough so the water is not stagnant. Buying another one for my other animal water trough. I’ve read were others have had issues with it getting clogged, as long as you keep as long as you keep contaminants out of the water you will not have that issue. The only time I got clogged is when there were some algae in the trough that I needed a scrub it out, a little bit got in the water holes. Very easy to clean out, just took a stiff plastic brush and poked it in the little holes and it was good as new. Wiped off the solar “panels“ and worked as well as the first day. I don’t think this fountain has the rating it should have overall, I’m sure there are some duds out there just like there is in any other product but for $10 I really do like this item. I think too many people are expecting it to store like a battery to charge for overnight. Again it’s 10 bucks. So I was a little skeptical about this little solar fountain for $10 being all that. I was surprised though, it actually had power coming out of the box. I use it in my 30 gallon horse trough not a birdbath, just enough oxygen into the water where the algae won’t grow so fast. In the video I have it on medium flow. It does require sunlight obviously being solar, but even when it’s cloudy, It’s given about half flow. so far very impressed , well worth a $10 investment

lovely but short-lasting
I've purchased these twice because I really like them when they are working for a large bird bath I have. However, both times they stop working after a month or so. I'm not sure the reason. Seller graciously refunded me the price. But just be forewarned that these may not be as durable as one would like.

Good little pump. Works great in my bird bath. Lots of different fountain heads so you can find the one that works best.

I love this great little fountain!
I love this fountain! What a great addition to anyone’s bird bath, fountain etc. The solar makes it function great in direct sunlight, but it is understandably sporadic when overcast. I have an old cement fountain that broke in a way that I can no longer use it with a traditional pump, & then I came across this gem. I have fallen in love with my fountain all over again because of this great find. All of the instructions are accurate & appropriate, like not letting it run when the water is empty, Keep the pump intake free of debris. Comes with different tips to make different shape sprays. I hope that you will enjoy this workhorse of a little fountain like I do. It does have a control to adjust the height of the spray.

Full sun & large bowl size needed to work effectively
Giving it 5 stars because I think it would be 5 stars given the right conditions. I didn’t read the description fully and didn’t realize that it wouldn’t work as soon as a shadow covers the solar cells…..so placing the birdbath in full sun to get it to work = hot water. Also, as someone else noted, more sun = more powerful spray….which means the water sprays out of the birdbath and you’re left with an empty birdbath (of course, depending on the size of the birdbath bowl). Will try the suggestion to take the spray nozzle off altogether. In the meantime I just double-sided taped the unit to the bottom of the bowl and got less spray (which seems like it will work if the Gorilla tape holds). I had also tried covering up a couple of the solar cells to see if that would make for a smaller spray, but the unit didn’t work when I did that). Will have to find something else to use in dappled sun.

Cute water fountain for one season.
Kinda cool, but only last one season. I paid around $10 and was not disappointed. Glad I got two, because they only last about 5 months.

Seven Months In and It’s Still Attracting A Variety Of Birds
This product was easy to put together, it is not flimsy but a rigid solar plastic sphere attached to a float sponge with plastic straws to maintain its floatation centrally. The pump is on the reverse side of it which inserts centrally through the solar panel. This pump is where the switch is located to control the height of the water flow out of the nozzle moving back and forth according to arrows. It comes with a variety of fountain cover caps for the funnel to choose from for the water pattern; these two pieces snap together onto the pump making the fountain. If the water level gets low in the birdbath, then it of course does not have the ability to push a significant amount of water up as a fountain, but rather a burble of water. Water level and its cleanliness in the birdbath is the user’s responsibility. As it allows for cleaning the bowl, preventing debris and algae formation, and a proper water level for the fountain to function as it should. I have had mine for seven months and clean it monthly. I took the pump apart using a soft toothbrush and water cleaning the housing inside and out easily with a soft toothbrush for the fountain, pattern caps, air holes, and filter, letting it air dry. The next day I put it back in its housing and reattached the fountain and it works great. The solar power box never gets touched that is attached to the panel and the pump is attached to it also. It does not require being unscrewed to clean. It’s solar so keep the top of it from getting dingy which blocks the sun’s rays. Common sense in cleaning the birdbath and solar fountain is ABSOLUTELY NO BLEACH OR CAUSTIC CLEANING PRODUCTS for the sake of the birds…just a little elbow grease and water. Overall it’s a great buy.
