I was a little hesitant buying this, but its worked perfectly since the beginning of the year. I use it to remotely control decorative string lights in my living room and it's meeting all my needs. The app is easy to use and the schedule and timer features are very useful. It puts me at ease knowing I can remotely turn on some lights if I'm waking up early/need a night light. Never had a single problem with it

I actually do like this plug now that i figured out I had the wrong app it’s an HBN brand plug nowhere on any directions on the box on the paper instructions does it say use the Tuya Smart app but guess what you have to I tried every single plug in on the HBN app and it wouldn’t connect I was so frustrated and working on a return when they had me watch a video for troubleshooting and that’s when i learned I needed the Tuya Smart app and guess what it works perfectly just how they said it should now so do yourself a favor and download the Tuya Smart app but it’s irritating that nowhere is this said in the instructions that come with the plug ! If the instructions were better it would get 5 stars because it does work as advertised once you have the correct app

Reviews said it was hard to install, not in the slightest, it was so easy to install. Lets see how much it lasts, I bought it and until now I am using it.

This dual plug has terrible instructions and setup. I've used many bluetooth and Alexa products. This one is so bad I had to return it. Every step along the way, which is many, to get it automated with Alexa was not straight forward, was confusing, did not work, or otherwise caused problems.The instructions are tiny lettering and non intuitive. I could not find the starting point. There is a link for online PDF instructions. The link goes to their home page and no further. No help.I found the app and installed it. The setup showed about a dozen different plugs. No model numbers on mine of the dozen in the app. None of the ones in the app looked like my dual plug - they were all single plugs. I tried the auto setup but the device did not appear.Eventually, I found tiny page numbers on the instructions and each "page" is only a half page so 1-9 goes along the top half and 10-18 along the bottom half. Then another 18 mini pages on the backside. If you just try to read the instructions you go from step 1 to step 10 to step 2 to step 11. Very confusing.I skipped the NOTE to hold on/off for 5 sec for factory reset since it was a new product. Next step - status based on blinking lights - didn't help because there were no blinking lights. Back to factory reset. But holding down the button did nothing. I tried the second button, that did the trick. Now there's a blue flashing light.Back to the app. The device showed up in auto setup. I had to enter my wifi password for the app, then again for the device. Setup timed out. I had to enter the wifi password again to retry. Timed out again. You get the picture. Eventually I copied that password so I could paste it in each time. I took several tries before the setup actually worked.Now for Alexa setup. There is a link in the app to setup Alexa. I tried it. It took me to a page that said "if you're seeing this you need to update your app." I went to the app store. Looks like I have the latest version that's 1 year old - no updates available.I realized that HBN were amatuers and decided to return the product at this point. I'm trying the Govee product, and they're worked for me in the past.

So I plugged in the device about 50ft from my router. Connected my phone to the 2.4G network, opened the Smart Life app, selected add wifi plug, when told so, I reset set the device and sat down 10ft away. 2 minutes of searching, Smart Life app gave up. Well, I've had issues setting up smart devices too far from the router before. So I plugged the device in about 10ft from the router and about arms length from me. Again followed the steps above, and the Smart Life app immediately found the device. 10sec later, it was installed. Repeated for all others, same results. I then plugged the devices in 50ft from the router and was still able to control them with my phone. They work as advertised.

I have these on most plug in lamps in my house! It makes it so easy for me as an older person not to have to reach around things to turn on the lamps. Now I can place the lamps where I want and just ask Alexa to turn them on!

It is a great buy so far. Using it to remotely turn on the lights and heat in my garage. Works great! Easy setup and a breeze to use. It will be nice to have a warm garage to go to in the winter.

I had trouble connecting to my network. However, these came with a second option allowing me to connect directly to each plug. That worked perfectly! I've got external plugs from the same company so they're all accessible from the same app.I'll be getting more.
