Good door lock - Good price
The lock is a basic key operated lock. It works as expected. I have no issues with it. It was definitely worth the price.

Great for a rental!
My daughter is in college and renting a room in an older home. The one that is on the door was broken, and this was an easy-fix replacement! She is on the first floor and I needed to feel she was secure in her room and that her belongings were safe while she was gone. This worked perfectly!

Be careful installing
The plate securing the tumbler needs to be correctly oriented or the key won't turn. I learned this the hard way. Otherwise it was fine.

You can reverse the bolt.
Not cast iron like the antiques. Big PLUS they don’t tell you about….YOU CAN OPEN IT UP AND REVERSE THE BOLT, just like the originals.

FIXED DAMAGE FROM SWAT TEAM.
This Deadbolt replaced the original one from 1910. A renter had the Swat Team come kick it in and ruin the old one. So I was very surprised to find this brand new one for under $16. Yes it is not top quality but it works and fits fine. The whole mechanism uses the same factory hole that was cut in the door from 1910. I drilled new pilot holes as they didn't match but the deadbolt covers all the old holes so it looks fine. The two keys it came with work fine as does the keyway, lock, and whole deadbolt operation. I'm very happy as it got me out of a SWAT induced doorjam.

Looks nice but it’s cheaply made.
I purchased this lock in black, looks really nice except they supply bright brass screws to install it. I had to paint them to match. Also it was missing the plate to secure the tumbler assembly to the door. For me this wasn’t a problem because I just used the one from the old lock. For the price it’s not too bad. You get what you pay for! But all in all I’m happy with it.
