The Naming Book: 5 Steps to Creating Brand and Product Names that Sell

Best naming book on the market!
As someone who had been in the process of naming my business for longer than I care to mention, following Brad Flower's The Naming Book has been the catalyst I needed to get me over the finish line. Brad Flower's book provides practical, deep and well thought out steps and exercises to brainstorm and eventually choose a name! Throughout this process, our team was able to generate hundreds of possible names, expand our cognitive reach beyond our own English language knowledge, and ultimately narrow down the possible names (with purpose) to our final chosen name. After trying and failing many times, it is such a relief to be on the other end with a name we are proud of that will be with me for years to come.We want to thank you for this wonderful book! We can’t recommend highly enough!!

Easy to follow and very practical!
One of the best books on brand naming!A very practical guide provides many exercises, valuable tips, and little tricks that really matter when it comes to creating an iconic name.I also had the pleasure to interview Brad on my podcast (On Branding Podcast) if you want to get an overview of what's inside the book.

Finally a naming book that gets tactical!
As a marketer, one of my greatest frustrations is poorly named brands. I can't get over how many brands set themselves up for failure with terrible names that hinder their opportunities to succeed. Despite the critical importance of naming, there are very few good books on this topic. The few that do exist are more philosophical, or historical approaches to naming, but nobody has written a good book that helps you actually do the work of naming a brand. Brad's processes are a smart way for brands to arrive at a truly GOOD name for their brand on their own, or use the book to get more out of the engagement when working with an agency, either way, I know I'll be recommending this book for years to come.

What's in a name? A lot!
I loved the experience of reading this book. I now have pages and pages of name ideas AND I enjoyed the process. That's rare. The author put a lot of thought into this. He leads us through a process that works (you can trust it). And the stories and examples are great! I learned a lot more, for example, about names in the Pacific Northwest in the first several pages of the book than I did during the entire 17 years I lived there. I also learned a lot about current business names. They make sense now.If you're considering launching your own business (which I highly recommend) or if you want to tune up your existing business, read this book.

Practical and tactical
If you're a product person like me, you know a name heavily influences a potential customer's curiosity to give the product a try. After reading Brad Flower's book, I realize there's something like "product-market-name fit" -- which is to say there's a product name that should not only describe what the product "is" but entice an emotional response. This book put the daunting process of picking a name on rails with a well thought method. We use methods to distill decisions across product development, it only makes sense to apply a similar method to picking the name.
