I ordered these specifically because of the measurements that were provided.HOUSES FOR YOUR HERMIT CRAB - Your pampered crab can choose between 12 beautiful turbo shells. Shells measure between 3/4" - 2", with an opening size of approximately 0.5" - 1.25"As you can see from my pictures the largest shell is only 1.25" total with the opening at just 3/4". When the description says opening approximately 0.5 to 1.25" you expect to receive several larger shells with a opening off at least 1./25" opening.My hermit crabs wouldn't even fit in any of these shells when they were babies. I feel like I was scammed out of $14.79. Guess I throw them in a flower pot for decoration so at least it won't be a total waste of money.I don't recommend these if you have mature crabs.

These are a lot bigger than I expected. My red and blue leg hermit crabs needed an upgrade but all shells in my order are a couple steps to big. But the shells are great quality and all came intact.

These shells worked great for my salt water crab that lives in salt water & not on dry land. He is 1 to 1.5 inches.

Bag I got had smaller shells, only had one that was an inch.

My biggest shell opening was 3/4 of an inch. However, they didn't lie - no shell opening was less than 0.5 inches.But if you're wondering if these shells will be big enough for your crab, they won't be.
