I found this item at a resale store when looking for my daughter’s hard plastic one and immediately fell in love with this! I’ve used it many, many times for years; it still looks like brand new. Dishwasher safe. No onion smell in the container or refrigerator! Onions last so much longer and fresher! Every friend or family member who saw it (even my daughter who had the hard plastic one) wanted one. When I found the Joie Onion Saver on Amazon, I bought several to give to others!!!

Where have you been all my life, little guy? YOU get the job done! No more Saran-Wrap-covered-halves-that-are-dark when I unravel them the next day! You’re really adorable, little guy, but you have some things to improve on. Don’t get me wrong, I love you but I also have no arthritis issue so I’m able to slide you open, & close. Arthritic-hands won’t have an easy time grasping you and sliding you apart! There’s no where on the outside that you can get a grip! You also are a bit delicate, aren’t you? If you don’t slide properly into your channels, my avocado will get dark. And I always have to remember not to slide a sharp knife in the soapy water with you. Don’t want to slice your thin membrane open! It’s true, compromising is a strong part in a relationship! Good thing I bought two of you because I can’t eat a whole avocado by myself, & you can’t hold two sides together, let alone one half with the pit! In any case, I’m so happy I found you!

It's a little hard to close if the onion is big, but it works well.

Ok, it was only $7.45, but it isn’t worth that much! It does not stay closed regardless of the size of the tomato inside. It keeps popping open on its own and if you do manage to get it closed, it then has to be pried open like a clamshell. Definitely defective. I had one before this that worked great but the silicone cover ripped. This one just plain does not work. Don’t waste your money.

I really like this avocado saver. It does a good job of protecting the avocado allowing storage of the cut avocado for a few days. It is easy to use and easy to clean.

The size and shape is right, and despite other reviewers having difficulty, I found them easy to open and shut. They slide into place. The issue is it's not an air tight seal. There needs to be a thin layer of silicone or a gasket where the two halves meet to keep the air out. They still do help keep avocado halves fresher longer, but not by much. You might get one extra day.

I love avocados. I love guacamole. I don’t love how quickly they spoil if you don’t use them once cut. This is ingenious and Keep your avocado fresh for at least 3 to 4 extra days without having to squeeze lemon on it, which changes the taste. I use this regularly, It’s easy to use cleans up easily. There was no weird smell. I love it.

Ótimo produto, bem acabado, resistente, prático, ocupando pouco espaço, porém se a metade do tomate for grande, fica um pouco difícil abrir, precisando de bastante força.
