100 Shiitake Mushroom Spawn Plugs to Grow Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms at Home or commercially. Grow Mushrooms for Years to Come.

I screwed mine up and didn't get a log. I left them in a plastic bag and forgot about them. 1/2 a year later I found em and they were covered in mycelium. No watering or special caretaking. They were just left alone in an un air conditioned garage and they were happy enough to grow all over their wood plugs. I will definitely order from them again.

Inoculated the logs in the Fall of 2022. Had pretty much given up on them after seeing no evidence of growth all through the Summer of 2023 and when I checked again at the beginning of Summer 2024. When I checked again Fall 2024 I noticed some mushrooms had grown and already gone bad. I soaked one log for 24 hours and dropped it from ~3' on its end onto stone - I'd read about soaking and hitting a log with a sledgehammer as ways to spur growth. Two days later, pins formed and it's been churning out mushrooms in the days since. It took longer than I'd hoped but I couldn't be happier with the results.

I haven't had any luck with mushrooms, and I don't want to bag on any company that makes sprores for growing your own...but I can't really give you all 5 stars if I haven't had any grow yet. read directions, drilled and filled holes...I've got a lot of dead ash trees down, and I'm patient and I'll keep waiting even if it takes a while longer. no rush. so fall all my mushrooms have ended in failures. it's likely due to having a wet spring, then it going drought for almost a month, and now it;s hot and rainy- I've even got 2 buckets of oyster mushrooms turning to dirt. ;/ no joy. GL and I hope you do better then I did with these.

The spore plugs arrived moist and with sufficient mycelia coverage. These are 1/4 inch plugs but use a 5/16 or 3/8 drill as the plugs are soft and swollen. I buried these flush into three kinds of freshly cut logs (plug distance about 1 foot) and coated them with paraffin wax The logs I used were Ash, Birch and poplar (that is what is primary on our property). The logs were stacked like Lincoln logs in a shady area. We will see what comes out in about 18 months.

These plugs came fully infused with shiitake mycelium unlike other sellers on Amazon. This is the second order I have received from this vendor and both have been quality products. This is the place to purchase mushroom mycelium. One year is a long time to wait to see if they work so you’ll want a product that will ensure your best chances of success.

Clean mycelium. Agar suggests good genetics.
