Quality Machine, small footprint, small price tag
I've had this machine for about a week now and so far I love it.It arrived on time in a very heavy box, as to be expected. Assembly was mainly a breeze! The directions were very clear and everything went together smoothly with the exception of the decorative plastic covers which go over the joints. There were a couple that would not screw together. These pieces are wonky as it is; the left and right sides aren't mirror images but in fact the same piece. They seem unnecessary anyway so I left them off. One piece on the main cranking system was cracked when I pulled it out of the box but I'm not sweating that either. It seems to be staying together and I'll keep an eye on it.The work out is comparable to any elliptical I've ridden at a gym. Very sturdy and the resistance levels are impressive. The calorie count function seems wrong and I'm not sure if that's because I don't use the handles with the heart rate monitor. Still looking into this but three miles in 30 mins should be more than 60 calories burned.I like the display and all the programs that come with the machine. I love how quiet it is.I haven't tired the app, haven't felt a need to yet.Is this machine going to last 5 years? probably not but overall I feel like I got a quality machine that provides a great work out with a small footprint and a small price tag. That's all I wanted.

Overall I'm pleased, so first here are the negatives
Update: it’s been a little over a year with this product, used 4-10 times a week. I’ve lost 35 lbs between using this elliptical and tracking calories. Product is still holding up, sometimes it squeaks or clicks but I’ve gotten used to it and it’s not overly loud or annoying. Overall very happy with this purchase!!Was not expecting commercial quality equipment for the price. Overall I'm pleased, so first here are the negatives:The 18" stride is better than some of the other machines in this price range, but it's still not great. I'm 5'10" and it's okay but I'd rather a little longer. Again probably the best for this price.Quality is a little cheap feeling, but for the price what can you expect. Assembly was not too bad, I opted to use real tools rather than the tools they provide which made it easier and go faster also allowing me to tighten things better. After reading comments I also added extra blue loctite and lithium grease to try and prevent squeaks and rattles. Only partially helpful: after a week I took everything apart chasing a squeak til I found the loose bolts and tightened them. No squeaks for a while and now a new one which I'll track down eventually.During assembly both wave washers broke, and getting new ones was easy, sent an email request and had them in a few days. Was hoping for more from the mobile app, but it's really just a mirror of the display. I deleted it from my phone and tablet and don't use it at all.The display is ok but for the price you're not gonna get anything fancy. Good enough for time, progress and calories. The calories and speed seem to be off - not sure if there's a calibration but the calories are about 1/4 of what I've seen on other machines or fitness trackers so I just multiply by 4.At first I was worried about the resistance being too high even on level 1, but after a month I've gotten used to it and do interval programs up to level 16. It goes as high as 24 which is pretty intense, maybe one day I'll get there. Now for the good:Compact size makes it great if you don't have a dedicated workout room. I'm able to push it up against the wall and pull it out to face the tv in the basement during use. Having it in the home has been great to use any time of the day without having to be motivated to leave for the gym. It's been a great addition for exercise in addition to dietary changes. The display is simple to use and makes working out easy to get started. It's study enough especially for the price. If you want something small in the home to get your workout and get you started with fitness, this is a great product. Just don't expect too much as it is a budget friendly item.

Good value for the money
The Elliptical came very well packed and all the parts were there. It took me about 35 minutes to unpack everything (carefully) just in case I needed to return the equipment. It took an additional 1 1/2 hours to put it all together. The instructions where very clear and easy to follow. Like some of the other reviews have metioned, it did have a broken piece. The plastic protection that guards the left back pivot joint. Not a big deal, I just super glued it back together. The computer and Bluetooth app all works very well. It uses an iOS app called myCloudFitness and I have had no problems with it in the week I've used it. You can also use the built-in LCD computer and that works great too. It has a limited amount of programs, I believe it is 12, but you can build your own custom program with the myCloudFitness app. That seems like a cool feature, but have not tried it out yet.The main reason I've given this a 3 star rating is because after about 3 days of working out, the Elliptical has developed a "clunking" sound when you are working out. It happens randomly, and seems to have become progressively worse each time. I took the plastic panel off to see if I could find the issue, but I don't see anything hitting or creating that sound. It doesn't stop the workout, but it is distracting when I am listening to music or watching TV when working-out. Maybe I just got one of the lemons?? Also, my wife says this Elliptical is more "bouncy" then the one at the gym. I guess with her bad knee, this one hurts her injury, unlike the one at the gym.UPDATE 1-15-2015: I updated this to a 5 star as the company responded with a video link to help level the machine, which seems to have stopped the noise. Thank you for the customer service and advice!!I hope this review can help someone out when deciding on an Elliptical purchase.

Very satisfied!
Yes, the Exerpeutic 5000 Elliptical met and exceeded my expectations. Especially for the price. We looked at much more expensive ones first. It came very well packed. The assembly instructions were easy to follow. I will admit that I used my own tools rather than the assembly tools provided. It is physically very solid, smooth and quiet in operation, the rotating parts are well balanced, and it is steady on the floor. If there is any weakness it would be in the accompanying literature. Since it is our first exercise machine we really didn't know how to go about setting up an exercise schedule or routine to suit our ages & abilities. How long should we try to use it, how often, etc? Even after just a few days we both notice an improvement with how long we can work on it. This will be especially good for us in the winter when it is icy outside for walking, etc., or raining, or after dark.We haven't really figured out the usefulness of the display panel as yet. I know how everything works and maybe in the future they will be useful but for now I use the timer function mostly. It would be nice if we could select km instead of miles on the display.I got the app for it on my iPad and iPhone and it links up easily (Bluetooth) with my iPhone but getting connected to my iPad seems to take a long time every time. Beyond that, as far as I can tell, the app doesn't give you anything beyond what is on the display panel, except the ability to save your workouts somewhere on a cloud. Don't need that. My wife uses it just fine without even plugging it (the Exerpeutic 5000) in. I presume this limits it to level 1 resistance but so far that's OK.I sometimes wish it were possible to monitor my heart rate while holding the main levers rather than changing to the heart rate handles. The elliptical trainer has a nicer motion, less impact than a treadmill, and uses less floorspace. Also it doesn't require a big motor to make it run.

Fantastic machine for a fantastic price!
This machine is the perfect addition to my home. I live in Winnipeg MB Canada, working out is easy in the summertime but come winter that last thing you want to do is severely injure yourself jogging on the snowy uneven sidewalks. I ordered this on December 20/14 and it arrived December 24/14. I was shocked at how fast it arrived especially so close to the holidays. I would have to say that it was more difficult to get it out of the box than it was to put together. I was able to put it together by myself in about 2 hours, I did ask my husband for assistance here and there just to hold some parts while I worked but it was rather quick and easy assembly. After using the machine I have to say it seems like the calorie counter is off, I did the same work out I would do on an elliptical at the gym that would normally burn around 400 calories in 40 min however after 20 min the calorie counter was at 56. I am also curious about the heart rate counter as this work out would normally have my heart rate at about 180 bpm and at the peak of my work out I was at about an 86 so I would say add a 1 in front. However I know i'm getting a good work out because I can feel it so all those things don't matter to me. On top of all that this machine is crazy quiet, no squeaking, no anything it is essentially soundless. Bottom line if you want a decent quality machine without the insane dollar sign I would highly recommend this machine

Had some issues
I had an older version of and elliptical from this company so when it finally died I decided to get another one because I know it is good quality. Unfortunately the first one they shipped me arrived damaged. I believe this is something they should have identified in quality control before they shipped the product from their factory but regardless, it was a HUGE hassle for us to pack the machine up and ship it back. But we did get another one and this one went together perfect with no issues...or so we thought. The thing is, this is a good machine and is strong and durable unlike a lot of other machines which feel cheap when you use it (unless you are like 100lbs or something).BUT, the major flaw is that this machine squeaks! We have already had to submit 2 warranty claims to get extra bolts (they get stripped immediately when you unscrew them) and request their specific grease in an effort to stop the constant squeaking that occurs on a regular basis. The grease helps for a couple of weeks but then it starts up again. I don't know if this is just a design flaw or what but I have to jack my music up super loud to try and ignore it until we get to the point where we have to take the major joints apart to apply more grease. So it is really annoying. The other thing is, don't get sold on the connection to the app. The programs it comes with are good, but I have never been able to get it to actually connect to the app and their tech support are useless.

Worth every penny!
Was delivered and less time than expected (<4days). Assembly was fairly easy- everything inside the box was laid out nicely and organized. The parts and the elliptical seem to be of great quality. I would definitely recommend using your own tools along with adding some extra white lithium grease to the movable joints during assembly. We are super impressed right away that the workout it gives you is the exact same quality of that at the gym. I love all the workout program settings that it offers and my ereader fits great on the display. It even has grip-strips for that exact purpose-nice feature! The stride length is extremely comfortable (both users are 5'4). After four months of regular daily usage (2hrs/day) the elliptical continues to perform excellently. Maintenance is key of course- make sure to wipe it down after each use so no dust builds up around any moving parts. As expected on any machine, after a month or so of usage it can squeak a little only because some of the bolts on the stationary column loosens a little with regular movement. A simple screwdriver fixes that in a minute. Overall I am extremely impressed and highly satisfied with my purchase.

It's OK, you get what you pay for.
For the amount of money this one cost is actually better than other machines we have seen in the same price range. First time it was defective, had to do multiple e-mail and phone calls to get that sorted out, then had to put it back into the box (putting back stuff into original packaging is a real pain!), ship it, wait for the new one, assemble it again. You get re-imbursed for shipping back cost. Assembly took a bit over an hour. Resistance setting can go higher than 13, but past that number the machine starts making real loud cracking noises. Machine squeaks a little sometimes during regular use, especially when you first start. Otherwise construction is very nice. The App you need to sync your tablet is very plain, so we don't even use it. Overall, I guess it's OK for the money.
