It is absolutely 100% *not* hollow-ground. Flat grind. The Cold Steel photos kinda make it look hollow-ground. Maybe they used to be, maybe not, I dunno. But I just received my tanto yesterday (14 November, 2022) and it's unequivocally flat-ground. Also, (something I didn't expect), the tanto tip edge grind has no secondary bevel. In other words, that grind is essentially "scandi-style". A pleasant surprise.

How do you go from 0.12” thick to 8.8mm thick????

.12" is the blade thickness, 8.8mm is the handle thickness. I think 8.8mm includes the pocket clip. The video shows the Air Lite with a standard No. 2 pencil on top of it. The knife is a tiny bit wider than a pencil, for perspective.

Is this knife flat or hollow ground?

It's not hollow ground or saber ground like the others say. It's flat ground. Saber ground starts halfway down the blade. The ground on this starts up high.

Is this the tanto or drop point? The picture is tanto but the description about says drop point.

That is the tantp version, they only come in 2 blade types and that is tanto and drop point.
