I was able to pick it up at the post office in 9 days (only because I missed when it was delivered to my home). I couldn't wait to try it. Being a good consumer, I read all the instructions and safety rules first. The box is big and so is the product inside. The Amazon picture may make it look small. The product uses four AA Batteries which you can buy on Amazon Duracell Procell AA Batteries, 24-Count . The compartment is in the back of the neck area. Just unzip the product. The product is for Indoor use only. Never use it outside, in the bathroom and never under the sheets in bed. The heating device can be used with the electrical unit included. The red lights that turn on in the neck area signals the heat is on. Very simple to use. Just place around the back of your neck and press the appropriate button on your right. Low and High. The massager will only last for 15 minutes, including the heat, and will shut off automatically. You may shut off the heat and vibration anytime before 15 minutes. Use of this product is not limited. I bought this device because of what the reviewer with degenerative disk disease said. I have the same condition so I thought I would give it a shot... and was so eager, paid for overnight shipping. It was great that it arrived in something like 18 hours from when I purchased it and I tried it right away. Unfortunately, the heat was so low I don't think they should even claim that it warms up. I get far more heat from the little chemical warming pads out there. I might return the product -- but haven't decided yet. As for positives, this fits me better than the the conair neck massager, which I went to the store to buy today. It, by the way, also produced insufficient heat, but a bit more than this product. The vibration isn't really "massage", but just as a tens unit can mask pain from its vibration, so I would said that this product has a similar effect. For that reason, it may be worth purchasing. But don't expect any help from the heat feature (which, by the way, will not work unless the massage is on and also will not work when using batteries). If you want heat, you'll probably have to use either an electric heating pad (I have two different sunbeam heating pads designed for the neck -- both I would recommend btw). As I type this I am using one of my neck heating pads and the "massager" over it, using the batteries and on the low setting. Once combined with the heating pad under it, I am pleased with the benefit.

I purchased this for my husband. He had one like it for years. It finally stopped working and he wanted another one just like it. I would say that it is great. It heats well and has just about the right amount of masssage. He uses it everyday. When this one stopes working I hope they are still making this style.

Been putting in an extensive Vegtable Garden in the back yard (start with 16 TONS of Compost to get an idea of How Large a Project this is) it is an Understatement in the Extreme to say my shoulders and neck hurt in the evenings. This unit was Very Price Friendly, and contrary to other reviews I have found it to offer significant relief. I can't say that other units might not do better than this one or not, I don't own others, but this one DOES HELP. One Possible Cause for others negative reviews might be in the way they use it. If you sit up straight and nicely placenthis around your neck and turn it on ..... Not all that much is going to happen. (IT'S VERY LIGHT so it cannot impart much impact under it's own weight.) I found the best way to get my effect out of it was to lay back on the couch using the armrest like a neck pillow or to lean back firmly so that the back of the couch Pressed the massager firmly against my aching neck & shoulders. THEN you turn it on and use the heat. I also found that it turns itself off after a few minutes (safety feature I assume?) the first go around I don't get that much "Heat" sensation, but I just turn it back on and the second and third times I get good heat and vibration.... And I feel better after. Personally, it's one of the BEST $18 I HAVE SPENT in a Very Long Time.

I've been having a lot of trouble with my neck & shoulder. This gets the massage & heat where I need it. I've used it with the battery a few times when I need to moe, but that doesn't include the heat, It is better than trying to get a heating pad positioned correctly, but the thickness makes it a little awkward.
