Chase Harper 3240 bags
Great bags if you like having the versatility of a low profile storage bag with the ability to expand to the size of most soft bags. Well constructed and easy to install.

Well-built but small-ish
I installed these bags on my motorcycle using a hard rack, rather than just slinging them over the seat in true "saddlebag" fashion, I tried that first but just couldn't find a way to get them as secure as I wanted them. Once I found the best way to route the straps on the rack to get them secure, I've been happy with their position and they hold onto the racks quite well.Stuff I really like: I dig their look and function in the collapsed position. They're out of the way, tucked in, and have a "zippy" look to them for lack of a better word. I'm much happier with this than the look of hard or even soft panniers always hanging out in the wind even when they're not needed. This is an important issue for me since I frequently don't have stuff to haul when I ride. When filled they remain secure without any rattling or moving around (I'm using a hard rack, remember).Stuff I don't like: they really aren't very spacious. These bags are going to max out at a trip to the gym, a single overnight road trip, a few errands around town, or a day at work if you can get by with minimal clothes to change into and a small lunch. I imagine that for more weighty journeys I'll be strapping bags to the pillion seat. These are a no-go for anyone interested in hauling serious quantities of gear.Stuff other reviewers don't like, but doesn't bother me too badly: the zipper issue others have noted is a bit of a problem but can be dealt with easily enough. The lip that protects the zipper IS pretty robust, and is shaped by a thick piece of plastic. This plastic piece's stiffness is what creates the issue with getting the zipper closed at times. I find that if I roll the entire plastic lip up to move it completely out of the way, it alleviates the zipping issue. I just leave it that way and if it ever looks like it will rain then I'll roll it down to keep the bags' contents dry.

Don't get these
I had a set of Chase Harper USA 3550 Aeropac II saddlebags for years. They were great. When I needed to get a set of bags for another motorcycle, I didn't hesitate to get a set of Chase-Harper bags. Unfortunately, I got the 3240. What a mistake.Biggest problem with these bags is that the top of the bag gets in the way of the zipper. It's hard to open because of the weird lip on the bag, and the zipper gets stuck under the lip and is hard to access. Could be fine bags otherwise, but this is a deal-breaker. I'd recommend going with the Chase Harper USA 3550 Aeropac II instead. It's a few dollars more, but well worth it for a functional bag.

Excellent Construction.
Just Immediately this is head and shoulders above other bags I've used. It is designed to last and well thought out. Double stitching in the right places, good zippers, and a very sturdy feel. Worth the Made in USA price. If you value your Items and safety this is the choice.

Should've included rain covers
Used this on my CB500X. Fits great and I like that it's collapsible when empty. However, I believe the company should have included rain covers with the item since this is only water resistant. Reason for docking one star. Otherwise the built quality is great! Made In USA!

Quality build with major flaw
Solidly built and good quality bags. As other reviewers have mentioned, the zipper is a pain to get open. Even with added cords on the zippers to get a solid pull, it usually results in the full bag moving and sliding out of place rather than the zipper moving. Not sure how they overlooked this.I would recommend looking at other designs from chase harper because the quality is there but the zipper design here was a dud.
