Great Expectations by Charles Dickens

Good luck reading this. I hope you have a magnifying glass. OR BETTER YET A MICROSCOPE.

I'd forgotten just how good Dickens is. It was great to read this book again after very many years for my book club. I'm no good at story synopses but this tale and the characters in it must be famous - Magwitch the convict, gentle Joe Gargery, the haughty Estella, the tragic and bitter Miss Havisham and Pip himself, as well as many others all of whom are unique and described so well: they leap off the pages. Although it's largely a sad story there is humour and redemption. Anyway, as a result of reading G.E. I immediately re-read A Christmas Carol - well, it was at around Christmas! I will definitely be reading more Dickens before too long.

Habe das Buch mit Freude geöffnet und wurde nachdem Erblicken der Ware schwer enttäuscht.Das Buch an sich ist zu groß,als dass man es leicht transportieren könnte.Die Schrift ist zu klein und für Brillenträger so gut wie unlesbar.Die Dicke des Buches nimmt einem jegliche Motivation es zu lesen ,wobei auch die Form und die Schrift ihren Anteil erledigen.Nicht weiterzuempfehlen.
