Always keep 1 or 2 as spares. Living in a somewhat rural area with frequent power outages, the high voltage startup on these units get torqued up quite a bit. Easy to replace, make sure the old unit (and new) get discharged from any existing charge (even new ones will pick up a charge just by existing).

My capacitor broke, and this was an easy and inexpensive diy replacement which saved a ton compared to an hvac technician service call.

It fixed my a.c. My ac was blowing hot air I replaced the capacitor and it’s been over a year still working. I now keep 2or three as spare’s. Make sure you take a picture of it so you can get the same. One. And make sure you hook up the correct wires to the correct terminals. Play it safe and ground the old capacitor before touching it (a screw driver will do) after you have turned off the power.

With this extreme weather that has affected us all in the U.S, our air conditioners are taking a beating! We had ours shut off in the middle of the night when the capacitor couldn’t keep up with the constant use , but thank God we ordered two of these capacitors to keep on hand just in case and it saved the night! Usually when an ac burns out when it’s being pushed harder than normal in extreme heat 8/10 times it’s usually the capacitor. If this is the type your ac takes, I suggest getting a couple. It’s always better to have extra than get stuck without the part you need and there’s a heat index of 120 degrees outside! This worked perfectly in ours and we appreciated the low price and quick shipment as well.
