My daughter loved me for this!
My 6-year-old daughter has gone as Rey for the past 2 Halloweens, so this year we bumped up her game to include this staff. Honestly, she loved carrying around the broom handle I gave her last minute last year but this was a huge hit. I rigged up a shoulder strap and she was grinning the whole day! She got lots of great compliments about it and I appreciated that I didn't have to spend a whole Saturday making one of the many DIY models seen online. I love how skilled those people are, but I am not one of them! This was a huge score. It is sized for a kid, not an adult, check the length in the description. And, surprise, if you swing it and hit things or people with it it might not hold up! But this was an amazing prop for Halloween and she carried it around the house for 2 weeks afterward. No regrets at all.

Decent prop for a small person's costume
I don't get why other reviewers are coming down so hard on this staff prop. It's a little overpriced for what it is, but it's not a bad prop for a Rey costumer who's on the short side (like me). I call it a prop because it's sturdy enough to hold and carry around but does seem too flimsy for rough play. It's probably good enough as-is for a kid up to about 4 feet tall, but it should also be easy to modify for bigger costumers (up to a point) and its aesthetic shortcomings are also easy to rectify. The staff is about 4 feet long fully assembled. It's hollow and screws together, so it should be easy to swap out the middle piece for a dowel or something to lengthen it to match your height. Rey's staff in the movie is said to be 6' long. Daisy Ridley is 5'7". I did the math so you don't have to: multiply your height by 1.075 to get your staff length. For instance, I'm 4'10", which is 58 inches. 58 x 1.075 is 62.35 inches, or about 5'2". So I have to add a little over a foot to the staff's length. If you have to make it too much longer than that, I imagine it will start to look weird—too skinny and the details will be scaled too small. The details seem to be pretty much accurate to the film, and the paint job isn't bad either. It looks decently like aged metal. Where it looks lousy is the "grip" area where it's supposed to look like it's wrapped in leather and gauze... and you can fix that yourself by actually wrapping it in gauze or cloth or even toilet paper. It doesn't come with a shoulder strap, but that's also easy to add with a spare shoulder bag strap and some rubber bands. Or heck, just a length of twine. Get creative. The grungier it looks, the more true-to-character it will be. If you really care about screen accuracy, then you probably already know what you're doing and I don't have to tell you how to buy a tan strap and make leather fasteners. Anyway, that sounds like a lot of modification, but the point is that it's fine out of the box for a kid-level Halloween costume, and it only takes a little effort to elevate past that level for a smaller adult costumer. It's wayyyy less money than buying a screen-accurate staff on Etsy, and wayyyy less effort than making your own from scratch.

Cheap, but looks decent.
This staff looks nice from afar, but don't look too close at it and certainly don't actually use it. It is hollow, injected molded plastic, and will probably only last you a time or two before it is kinked and broken.

Perfect for kids
This is the perfect costume accessory for a kiddo. It's hollow plastic so it's light weight. It's only 4 ft tall so it's not so large that it's unwieldy. My daughter finally signed off on dressing up as Rey instead of Elsa and this accessory makes it perfect. She's super excited for Halloween and I'm sure she'll use it for other star wars events as well.

Waste of money!
If 0 Stars was an option I would give it that. My daughter used this for about 30 seconds on Halloween before it broke in half, and she doesn't play rough with her toys. I contacted the seller and they refused to give her a refund saying it was her fault. My kids aren't perfect but she did nothing that should have caused this $18 toy to break within 30 seconds. I would never purchase this and neither should you!

but the quality is very poor and flimsy
Size is as advertised, but really sized for a smaller child. I know it’s not meant to be a functional weapon, but the quality is very poor and flimsy. So much flex in the pieces that the plastic seems like it will break easily. Mine showed up bent. Details are not very... detailed. Pretty poor overall. Glad it was cheap.

I am happy with the purchase as I read the review and knew what to expect. It is small for an adult, but for a child, it is an awesome replica of Rey's staff. It has a lot of detail and although it feels light, I would not have it any other way since kids will be swinging this around.

Needs a larger option, but it's a good staff!
The size is perfect... if you're buying it for a kid. I wish there were an adult option. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and it helped to round out my Rey costume, but it would have been PERFECT if it were longer. That didn't detract from my rating, because the listing is honest and gives you the dimensions of the staff, so I knew it was going to be short. This staff is alright in appearance and detail. I love that it disassembles into three pieces. That made it really easy to travel with and take on a plane. The material is cheap and light, but it's weight again makes it easy to travel with and easy to carry around when in costume. Definitely overpriced, but you gotta do what you gotta do, lol. I added a strap to it and it worked out great for my Rey costume :)

It is clearly a toy and a bit bent but what do you expect it's literally £15

Comprato per pochi soldi per completare il costume di carnevale dedicato a Rey. E' davvero perfetto. Chiaramente è in plastica dura (separato in tre pezzi che si avvitano) ma è robusto ed è una fedele replica!

This is a great product and came exactly as advertised. It's a little short for adults, but it still looks great and makes a great accessory to the costume. You can disassemble it for easy transportation, and it's not flimsy. It doesn't come with a strap, but I made my own and tied it where the staff disassembles. I have no complaints about this product. Very happy.
