Best value phone right now?
I've had a variety of sub $300 android phones and so far this seems to be the best.Photo quality is very good due to the 48 MP back camera. IPhone cameras remain the standard but you will pay a premium. The screen is sharp and clear and it works smoothly with no hiccups or hangups owing to a decent processor with 4 GB ram and 64 gb storage. There is a camera notch in the top of the screen but this doesn't bother me at all. 4000MAh Battery life seems good - all I care about is not having to charge it during the day and so far it doesn't lose much charge at all during a day of light use.Video performance is fine, Youtube videos are sharp and clear without problems at 1080p.The speaker sound is loud and clear. Bluetooth connectivity is seamless - a device I formerly had trouble with now connects without trouble. Wifi and cellular data speed are fine. It even came with a case! It's clear, soft flexible plastic that isn't grabby when you slide it into your pocket.Ports are USB C and headphone and both work without trouble. Dual sim if you need that and it does take an SD card up to 512 gb which is pretty huge. Moto tweaks Android a bit and adds some features like turning the flashlight on with a chopping motion which is unique and very handy. The only odd thing is the form factor but they did it for a reason. The phone is rather narrow which makes it easier to use one handed. I would rather it was wider since it limits the size of the displayed video when the phone is turned horizontally. This results in black horizontal bands on the sides of the screen and a viewing area that is smaller than it should be.All in all it's a great value phone for the money with a very good camera. the only flaw being it's form factor. One other issue; it's not under US warranty so get a 3rd party plan.

Awesome Phone
My wife and I have been using Moto G phones for awhile now. She had a Moto G7 Power, which is a cheaper version of the Moto G7 that I had. It got to the point where that wasn't enough, so she got this one. It's amazing that this phone is so much more powerful and yet she paid almost the same amount when she bought the G7 Power. Literally everything about this phone is not only an improvement, but it's just about as good as phones that cost 3 or 4 times the amount.Keep in mind that you can only use this phone with GSM carriers (no Sprint or Verizon). It goes with a clear case but you'll need to provide the screen protector and memory card. Fortunately, good memory cards are cheap now. To be honest, I'm considering getting one of these for myself.

Great phone!
This phone is fantastic. Great camera's. Panorama, Cinemagraph, night vision, live filter, (timelapse, slo-mo video), cutout, spot color, X8 zoom is great, 48mp. It doesn't have a manual but has a help file. If you have had a smartphone before you will know your way around easily. I had one question on setting up the hotspot and the Motorola customer support was great. The battery only lasted 8 hours of continuous use. That may be normal. Files like your contacts and photos are automatically available and of course, your cloud info is also available. I have unlimited LTE hotspot with Red Pocket and downloaded a ton of apps in no time. Upgrading from an antique Alcatel phone this thing is amazing. Excellent sound quality. I don't know about the fingerprint scan, or the face unlock, I'm using a pin to unlock the screen by choice. It says it's an international version but it's all English. As far as the warranty goes Amazon has it's own, and so does the seller. In the settings, it says it is in warranty. It has all the goodies like blue tooth, hotspot, wifi, etc. It comes with Android 9. To upgrade to 10 you need a wifi connection. Nice!!

Over all good budget phone
Good phone so far no problems as of yet. But I'm sure in time it'll start to show it's face little by little. Hardware is adequate for this type of phone being that it's a budget phone. So far from my daily usage of it does show some type of non-responsive reactions a little sluggish from time to time battery charging is real fast even though it is only 15 watt charging it's good so far. Facial recognition will unlock with or without glasses being worn on your face so keep that in mind if you think the unlocking from facial recognition is important to you. Screen aspect could be a little better but again it is a budget phone so it's pretty good for the price point. All in all I am satisfied with the purchase of this phone just looking forward to what Motorola has in store for its upcoming 2020 phones if they're going to stick with their budget phones or come out with some new type of higher performance phones.

Real nice Phone
My phone died and I bought this after a Galaxy 8+ and it is so much easier to use and fits better in my pockets not too big not too small. Real nice shortcuts for flashlight, screen shot and mute a call. I also like the screen better more life like than other phones.

I absolutely love this phone!
I love it. Overall great phone! I've yet to have a problem I have AT&T prepaid and it works great! Didn't have a problem setting up or anything. Just popped in my sim and it was ready! I know it says the max sd is 512gb or something like that but I have a 1tb and it reads it just fine. The camera is amazing too, I love taking photos and it's great! The clarity is amazing! I absolutely love it!

This is a Great Cell Phone
It fit the bill for me. I love it. I love the color. I'm not a young person that live on my phone, but I do love it. I mainly purchased it because of the size. I wanted something large. Something that I could hold in my hand and use it.

Very good phone with great battery but no NFC.
Phone is perfectly fine but "package deal" is a joke. Clear case comes from factory with phone regardless of package and memory card is no name brand and slow. Better off purchasing without "bundle". No NFC on this version made for Latin America but everything else works fine.

Loving it!
I love this phone so far, I was tempted to purchase another Chinese branded phone(not a well know brand in North America or at least very few are sold within North America as far as I know), but instead went with a non-Chinese phone mainly because of three reasons. 1)Warranty it's way easier dealing with Motorola Canada vs a company from China 2)The amount of bloatware Chinese phones have vs the real Android software on a Motorola and finally 3)The not so great recent relationship between the Canadian Gov and Chinese Gov swayed me to stay away from Chinese phones. The phone is everything and more that I thought it would be, really loving this phone, and the Moto app has great features as well. Can't go wrong with a Motorola for Low to Mid range phones for their price.UPDATE Sept08, 2020I have noticed on several occasions when driving my Jeep the Bluetooth from the phone does not connect with the Jeeps U-connect system. I have never had a problem with my Jeep not connecting with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 phone. Each time this occurs, I have to either turn the Motorola Moto G8+ Plus Bluetooth off and then back on or pair it with the U-connect system, this really becomes a pain quickly especially when you get a call and it doesn't come through on the U-connect system. For this reason I removed a star.

Exceptional
Although, I did only have the phone for a few months before I lost it while hiking (was extremely disappointing) it was a great phone while I had it. Tones of battery life, a pretty good camera, screen, and appearance in my opinion. It was missing 2 features that my previous an now unfortunately current phone has which is the ability to multitask and use this one app that I had used for turning a tv on and off, but that was incredibly minor, especially considering the price. This phone was great. Don't have to worry about it dieing and outstanding speakers.

Disappointed to say the least
No NFC was the ultimate deal breaker as I was coming from a Pixel 3A.Ultimately downgraded to G7 Plus which has NFC and $50 cheaper. The device is absolutely perfect otherwise albeit a bit heavier than anticipated.

A great phone
Very good performance and battery life. With my normal every day usage I can get close to 4 days.I am not a gamer and I don't use it to watch long videos. My use is messaging, social media, taking family pictures and short videos.Camera is good, except for the limitation that the super wide can only be used for videos.Fingerprint sensor is very responsive but I have no way to test how secure it is
