Price should be more for this type quality!!!
This was a birthday gift for my son that turned 12 he loves to draw. He definitely has a old soul so when I saw this I knew it would be perfect. The day he opened his b-day gift he loved it and almost started to cry because he said he had only seen these journal in movies and that he wanted one. Keep this in mind he never told me this. My point is if you know some who loves to draw or doodle this is the perfect gift. It is made VERY VERY well. It will last for years to come. It also comes with a little felt doggie used for a bookmaker, it easily comes off if you don’t want it on. This journal sketchbook is thee perfect gift. The quality is thee best. It will last years and years to come.

Excellent notebook
This is an excellent notebook. I just wish that it had gotten grid paper. The paper is a very porous so it absorbs marker ink and spreads.

leather journal with cotton paper
This is a decent journal that would likely appeal to diarists or travelers. It measures 8.5 Inches by 6.5 Inches and is 1.25 Inches thick so it would fit in a briefcase or bag but probably not something you'd carry in a purse. It appears to be a nice quality of smooth brown leather without excess decoration so it's fairly plain. There's an embossed brand label on the back and it closes by threading a leather strap under the leather on the spine or just wrap it around and around and tuck it under. So, it may or may not close satisfactorily for you. This type of closure makes it unlikely that you will tuck anything inside the pages as it will probably fall out.I see that the pages are 4 sets of folded in half sheets and secured with a hole through which the leather that is on the spine is threaded. I didn't count the actual pages but it's about 120. You can write on both sides and there was no bleed through when I used my gel pens. I'm not sure about sharpie markers or any type of paint. There are some irregularities in the smoothness and look of the paper. No lines. You can use this for a journal or as a sketch book. Pages don't have a perforation for tear out.The dog charm was unnecessary and I removed it at once with a pair of sharp scissors. I think this more suitable for a man than a woman but I do prefer my journals to be pretty rather than plain. I also prefer a different type of closure. It does come in a cloth bag to make it nice for gift giving.

Nice Looking With Some Imperfections
I had rather high hopes for the Leather Journal Sketchbook. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. It comes in a nice cloth bag and on initial opening it made a good first impression. But as I examined it closer, I started to notice a few imperfections. The journal is hand-made with a leather exterior. There is a 3/8” leather strap which is intended to close the journal. There does not appear to be any reasonable way to actually secure the strap. It wraps around the journal and you can tuck the strap under itself, but that does not secure it.There is also a leather bookmark with a small stuffed dog. It looks okay but is not functional as a good bookmark. The interior sheets consist of four panels of 15 sheets folded in half. That means there are a total of 120 sheets in the journal. The sheets are nice and thick, a pleasant ivory color. A few of the sheets had some blemishes which I found a bit disappointing. One of the panels of sheets was not tied properly, the leather knot was inside the sheets instead of behind the cover. Because of the misplaced tie, the journal does not lay flat or close properly. It all comes down to what you are looking for. If you are looking for a journal which is obviously hand-made with some slight imperfections, then you may find this acceptable. However, if you are expecting an artisan work, I am afraid you might be disappointed as I was.As of the time of this review, there was no published price, so I cannot speak to the value.
