These are a lighter weight wood and less polished than the letters from our old Scrabble set. If we substituted just a few some players would eventually be able to identify them, but more recent Scrabble sets may have letters that are more like these. I have no idea. That said, they would be fine for crafts.

I bought a Scrabble game from a thrift store and quickly discovered that several letters were missing or mutilated, so I was thrilled to find these tiles. I only took the tiles I needed to replace for the game and they match the original unmarred pieces perfectly. For crafters, this set is a good value and the same as what you'll find in a Scrabble game. For whatever reason you need these tiles, rest assured that if you want them to look and feel like the game pieces, that's what you'll get with this set.

I purchased these tiles to replace some of the tiles that got lost when our Scrabble game was borrowed. I liked that most of the tiles matched the size and color of my original game tiles but there were a few that did not “fit in” as they were a little smaller than the original tiles and could potentially be seen by other players therefore would eventually know, if we used them and played often enough, what letters they were. If not for the few smaller tiles I would have scored this purchase 5 stars.

I recently discovered that my Scrabble set was missing a couple of letters. I ordered the entire set of 100 letters from Amazon. I play with a group. I set aside my original letters and we are using the new tiles. However, the old tiles are so similar to the new letters in color, thickness and size that I feel confident I can use my older tiles to replace any future lost letter.

I needed these tiles for a Christmas craft. They worked great- and I have extra letters if some are missing from my Scrabble game!

Was not happy with these. They work as a replacement to our original vintage ones but these are so cheap made. Very light weight. Some of the letters are off centered which drivese crazy. Wish I would have spent the extra money and got the really nice ones.
