Wonderfully humbling, but hopeful and helpful
While we didn't start out aiming to be a multi-racial church, our leadership is fully convinced that this aim gives the most glory to Christ and most tangibly displays the gospel to the church and those outside the church family. We are a long way off, but this book has already proved very helpful in getting me to think through ways in which we could be hindering that vision through ignorance. Listening to our brothers and sisters of color has not only helped me navigate through these waters, it has helped me become a more thoughtful, better listening, humble, sacrifically loving pastor and friend. There is no substitute for personal relationships with other brothers and sisters, but books such as All Are Welcome fill in the blanks and allow me to hear so many more voices that I would not hear on my own. This book is timely, necessary, well written, honest and hopeful.
