Huge Chair
I bought for durability. I'm 6 foot tall, and weigh 250 lbs. Chair is rated for up to 500 lbs and could easily accommodate someone twice as wide as I am. The chair is HUGE, dwarfing my normal size furniture. It is comfortable, but very firm for someone me weight. It basically has more support than a less than 500 lb person needs. It is very well made, with a solid steel frame. I bought it to last me 20 years hopefully, and it may exceed that., unless I gain weight. Because it is large, it is a little more difficult to reach the recliner handle, and my feet are about 2-3 inches off the floor sitting upright, and my back doesn't reach the back of the seat if sitting up with knees bent, so I needed to add a pillow for the extra support. Clearly this chair would be great for someone maybe 6 foot 6 inches tall or more. But I could not find as sturdy of a recliner at the price in a smaller size, and the chairs in the perfect size with the head and neck support have weaker construction. Everything in life is a compromise- I think for me, the strength from buying an overbuilt chair was a good economic choice. and once reclined this chair is as long as a mattress and almost as wide as a twin bed. Two thinner people could use it as a loveseat!!! My previous recliner wobbled if pushed and the frame would flex. This one is SOLID. I don't know how old the old recliner was, but the wooden frame members and 'plastic' bushings were worn out, and the recliner mechanism itself had literally worn through the metal when the plastic bushings gave out. If perfect fit for your height is more important than value and longevity, if you are a short person under 6 feet tall, you might want to shop around more. If you have short arms, the electric model may be worth paying for, but I didn't want one more thing that could go wrong. If you are under 250 lbs, a less robustly made chair that fits you perfectly may work for you AND last long. I am very satisfied though, getting even more than I expected, even though the chair itself does take more floor space than I expected. It is definitely tall enough though to support me head which is important when reclining for comfort, with all the neck/back deterioration I have. Someone could be 7 feet tall. Sitting in this chair my feet are 2 inches from floor, my back is 2 inches from back of chair without extra pillows, and my head is 6 inches from top of back. I am 6 foot tall.

Great chair for Big and Tall people.
This is by far the best built chair for really big people I have ever had. Tons of space, leg room, and support. My only thing is that I am 6'3" and almost too short for the chair. The handle needs to be placed higher up. I bought an extender for it. The chair sits high so it's easy to get out of. If you are 6'5" or taller, it's perfect. If you are 500 lbs, it's perfect. If you are shorter than 6'3" your feet will not touch the floor.

I'd give this four and half stars if I could
This is a great chair for the big and/or tall person. Very comfortable and has great support in the back of the seat and in the backrest. The fabric is soft and durable and I really like the color. The seat is at a good height to make it easy to get out of the chair. I am a little over 6ft and this is the perfect height for me. Recliner has great extension when laying flat. The only reason I give this four stars is that the leg rest does not lock into place. It doesn't take much to make it collapse and fold in. This is okay in one respect when you're trying to get out of the chair, but not okay if you've got a small dog sleeping against your leg and he suddenly ends up on the floor because the other much smaller dog decides to jump on the leg rest. Seems there should be more of a locking mechanism for this.

The Cushions Have No Give and Assembly is Difficult
Once finally assembled, this could be a very well built recliner. It's huge and very stable, the fabric is nice and I can see that this recliner could last years of daily use. However, the three hours I tried to sit in it were the most uncomfortable three hours I've experienced. The cushions have absolutely no give. I felt the push back every time I moved trying to find a position that would provide comfort, but instead it was a constant fight. My head could not relax because the cushion refused to budge. As I was struggling, hoping that if I just hung in there a bit longer I wouldn't be in so much pain.By the third hour I had a migraine unlike any I've had, my upper back was throbbing as it pushed so hard that my back became out of line. I went from wondering when it would start to feel comfortable, why I was punishing myself. By 4:00am I was submitting my request to have this chair returned.Maybe the chair I received was a fluke. I would like to think that, as there are so many wonderful reviews and it is very disappointing. The assembly was also very difficult and getting the two sides to align just right took almost an hour.

Comfortable chair
The good; big, sturdy, comfortable chair. The bad; not Lanes fault, but delivery is terrible. The placed it in front of my porch, and told me they wouldn't even take it out of the box. Even though they have an option for Entryway delivery. Amazon customer service was no help regarding this. Just be prepared to have help getting it inside your home.

I Love this Chair
I've had a Lane Recliner for close to 25 years that had served me well, but after 25 years it was having issues. I'd spliced things together, but it was getting beyond repair. I'm 6' tall and sleep in my recliner fairly often due to neck issues. I figured if I was going to get a new chair I'd get one that actually fit a tall person. This chair does that. Fully reclined my feet are still totally on the ottoman and my head is several inches below the top of the back. It's firm, gives good support, and is solid. The old chair always felt like it was going to tip over when I reclined it (and did several times with the help of the family dog). This chair doesn't even hint at not being stable. To some point I feel like "Edith Ann" sitting in it, it's so large, but there's room for the dogs and everyone is happy. I've had it about 4 months now and am very satisfied with it.
