Virtue VIO Replacement Paintball Goggle Lens - Fits Ascend/Contour/Extend and XS Masks - Thermal Bright Mirror

UPDATE...After a few games with the lens, I discovered the lens has bubbles between the 2 lens panes. After further inspection, there is also paint seeping between the lens panes at the very top where the foam band adheres the lens panes together. I've contacted Virtue, who responded very quickly. However the only thing you can do is to apply pressure to try to ensure the lens panes are joined together. I was informed that there isn't anything that can be done about the bubbles, which are formed from moisture getting between the lenses. I now have 3 lenses with bubbles. One might infer that the moisture got there from my cleaning the lens. On the first 2 you would be correct, I ran my lenses under water to get the bulk of the paint [which had dried in the very corners to loosen. Bubbles formed soon thereafter [yes, lesson learned to not do that any more]. However, on the new lenses, the bubbles formed without any water being used.. A short spray of Invisible Glass cleaner and a microfiber towel is all that I use.Therefore, a word to the wise, avoid moisture at all costs lest you find yourself looking through bubbles in your mask / lens. This includes any type of glass cleaner it would appear. Not sure what other options exist for cleaning my mask after a day of paintball games. Guess I just need to get better and not get hit in the mask in the first place. :-)Oh, the rest of my original review is still holding true... these lenses light up the view extremely well, although I'm not nearly as satisfied with the overall purchase as I was originally.Original Review...Bought to replace my tinted visor which works great in the bright light, but is a bit of a challenge in the shadows of woods paintball fields. Played with this visor and it seemed as if the woods "lit" up. Could see colors more clearly, movement across the field and clarity that I was missing with my tinted lens. Very satisfied with this purchase!!

The Chromatic lenses look awesome, but in terms of utility thats about it. I tend to buy too much gear so i have clear, black, and now high contrast yellow lenses to choose from. I gave the Chromatic Fire to a friend who did not mind the reflective nature.For speedballers, you can see the paint in the air so much better with clear lenses and that allows you to dip your head out of the way a split-second earlier. I have had guys say my lenses stood out a lot on the sunny field, not that speedball involves a lot of sneaking but it does help you avoid attracting any extra attention.For Woodsballers, the chromatic looks cool but obviously does not help with camo. And on a field with buildings or shaded areas, it can be hard for guys outside of said area to spot you due to the intense contrast. But the reflective lenses with be shining bright! Especially if you are in the house looking out a window for the added light to reflect. I had players tell me it looked like a floating mask was shooting that them.Again, all of this is to say, great lenses that have never fogged up even when playing in the rain and cold weather, i just wish i had thought about how the color might give me away before i spent $35 on the Chromatics!

My expectations for this lens were simple.- Does it stop fog buildup- Does it help with the sun in my eyes- Is the value good for the priceThis lens absolutely changed how I played paintball, it truly was night and day. No longer stuck in the back line afraid of breathing to heavy and not being able to see anything or dreading being on the wrong side because the sun would be in my eyes. After getting these i could fearless play any position i needed without worry of my vision being obstructed. These are an absolute steal for this price and a necessity in your gear bag.Be carful cleaning though. The anti fog is on the inside of the lens. Be sure to use nothing but a micro-fiber rag and water or the anti-fog will wipe away.

Bought the clear lens as a replacement for my current lens. The one I received varies slightly from the pictured clear lens in the fact that the edges aren't colored. In reality this does nothing to change the function or appearance of the lens or the mask overall, but for those that demand absolute perfection in the way they look this may be an issue.My mask is a first generation Virtue VIO, green with green/black lower half. As a first gen it has the oft complained about mask securing system. This lens, being essentially an OEM lens, locked right into place without issue. Clarity was great, and didn't have any problems fogging when I played this last weekend.By and far the Virtue VIO is my favorite mask I've worn, in part because of their lenses. Can't go wrong with their clear thermal lens as a replacement or a different option from their other chromatic offerings (which I cannot speak to as I don't buy or use chromatic lenses)

Man I never thought a Lens could make that much difference when playing in the woods. I normally play speedball but I have a few friends who just got into paintball and they only play woodsball. I was playing with a clear lens for some time but it was pretty easy to spot me due to my face poping out so much in the wooded environment. Tried a smoke lens and that helped me from sticking out like a sore thumb but it made it difficult to distinguish players from normal objective if they were just camping behind trees/objects. This lens changed everything. It gave me that low key contrast that didn’t give my position away as much as the clear and it gave me the ability to spot players so easy. It highlights the colors so you can notice so much more then with either lens.
