Osmo 3m Flood Barrier - Activated by Water, Alternative to Sand Bags, 10ft Long

Purchased this a couple of years ago for a storm but never used it . Got my chance with Storm Babet . I need to keep water away from a grid at the front of my property. I live on a steep slope and when the weather is really bad the grids at the front of my house struggle to take away the surface water . I used this flood barrier to divert the water from the front of my house to the side . It works brilliantly, I just lay it down where it needed to be and let it do its thing …..now I don’t have to worry about the water breaching the air bricks . Off to order some more 👍

Definitely helped to reduce the amount of water flooding the bedding in my stables. I live in Scotland in an area with clay soil, so nowhere for water to drain. A much cheaper alternative than having to throw out shavings which were clean but useless, due to being water logged, not to mention the time and energy saved. Just about to order some more of these as I only ordered two, to see if they were any good. I didn't actually soak them in the first place, there was so much water lying about so I just put them in position and let them soak up some of the water to activate them. Honestly didn't expect any miracles, so at the price paid I really can't complain.

Following my earlier review (see below) I thought I would buy a second one to give it a second try because heavy rain was forecast. Despite me soaking it for days with a watering can, it barely inflated at all. Even after a day of really heavy rain it was still only about 50% inflated. Ideally it should be like a 10-ft long "sausage" with plenty of bulk to stop water getting past but never reaches the "sausage" stage. Still a total waste of money.****************Bought the Osmo Flood Barrier because I have a steep drive and my garage is at risk of flooding in really heavy rain. Previously used HydroSnakes which were only moderately successful. Thought I would give the Osmo Flood Barrier a try because it is 3m long and stretches right across my garage door. Just awaiting heavy rain and will report back later. Disappointed so far because the Flood Barrier is taking for ever to swell up, even though I poured three large watering cans on it and it has been raining moderately for an hour. Unless it does what it says on the can soon it will keep zero water out!!! Update: The expected heavy rain failed to arrive, but after two days of getting soaked, the Osmo product has not inflated anything like as much as the HydroSnakes. It' now been exposed to days of heavy rain and is still only semi-inflated. Total waste of money!!

Just what we need to keep the water out of our garage. We did have another similar hydosnake which wasn't as good so I've popped it inside in the event that this one fails but so far it hasn't and we've had a good few downpours!

We have flat roof and heavy rain was pooling and going over the lead flashing on the chimney breast causing drips into our bedroom.I made sure that rain could not get behind the barrier by laying it hard against the chimney breast, being 3 m long the excess length was used to assist in diverting the rain water pooling further away. It made a perfect seal and can be reused.Would fully recommend and it and the barrier expanded as stated ,in my case from the standing water and rain - I had no need to use a hose to expand in readiness.

Local riverbank was at risk of collapse so bought this a extra protection... Gladly not had to use yet . It's in the garage ready to roll out Infront of the garage door if required. Easy to store, light weight.
