Great shoes
Love these shoes. I run or walk in them for at least an hour every day and they last a full year - longer if I don't mind a hole or two. I'm on my third pair. They protect my feet and are comfortable, and wearing them has eliminated all the foot pain I used to have. And they cost a lot less than expensive running shoes!!!

Absolutely loving these shoes!!
I'm in my mid 50's and I've had several issues with my feet, like occasional plantar fasciitis and minor bunions. I was convinced that the only shoes I'd ever be able to wear again, would be the super cushioned, orthopedic kind. I was very skeptical about trying minimalist shoes because of that. However, I'm extremely happy that I took a chance on these Whitin minimalist shoes! I've learned that I don't really need more shoe. I just need shoes that allow my feet to function naturally. I normally wear a size 10 and have a fairly narrow foot. I've been ordering wide shoes just to get extra room in the toe box, for comfort and for dealing with bunions. The size 10 (41) fits me perfectly and allows plenty of room for my toes to spread out comfortably. The fabric is super stretchy for comfort as well. The heel area is soft and stays securely in place. They are easy to slip on and off. These shoes were extremely comfortable from the second that I put them on and they only got better with daily wearing. And after over a month of daily use, I'm not seeing any signs of wear and tear on the shoes. So I'm fairly certain that they will hold up well. They literally feel like I'm walking barefoot (which I used to do all of the time, but no longer can, due to my age and age related foot issues). I don't even wear socks with them because they fit so well! I highly recommend them! Update: I've gotten them disgustingly dirty on several occasions now (grass stains, mud, grease) and they clean up, almost as good as new, every time...with just a little soap and hot water. They dry quickly and don't get smelly. The removable insole is yellow and it remains dirty looking, even after cleaning...but nobody, besides myself, sees that part. 🤷♀️

Well made and comfortable shoes.
These shoes are great for walking. I was having some back discomfort when walking with my old favorite shoes (Sketchers). Walking on sidewalks they would wear unevenly probably due to the way I walk. I bought a pair of Hike barefoot shoes which I liked but they just didn’t feel very substantial. I tried the WHITIN barefoot trail running shoes and they were just what I needed. I have walking in them daily now for several weeks with no issues. They are comfortable with or without socks and I won’t hesitate to buy this brand again when I need to replace them (or if they have a new cute style lol).

Comfortable, "grippy", and working well for strength training footwear
I only give 5 stars when I really feel like I got some bang for my buck. So, while I am happy with these shoes... I feel the price was fair when I bought them on sale (Amazon deal days), but to get the "fair" price (rather than spend way more than they were worth (in my opinion)... I was very limited in color/size choice (other colors were not on sale). So, I got stuck with purple. lol It doesn't bother me too much, because I only wear them at home - I purchased them for strength training. I am mid 50s, so I have to admit that my sense of "style" is not up-to-date (lol), so these shoes are ugly to me - make me look like a duck. lol But I knew that going into the purchase. The wider toe area is why I wanted them - for stability when lifting, without restricting the bend and movement of my feet. I also needed a good "grippy" sole. I've been using these in my carpeted workout room about twice a week for a couple of months now, and there was no break in time - they are functioning just as I'd hoped and I'm happy with my purchase. They are easy to put on. I do wear socks with my barefoot shoes (I know, I'm weird lol) and I have left the insert in it (I have high arches, so I have to have something). They are lightweight. I've worn them briefly on wood and tile floors when I've had to leave the carpet to answer a phone call - traction (at least for just walking) seems good on those surfaces too. I, personally, would not be able to wear these hiking or running, as I want more protection for hiking and more cushion for running, but as a lifting shoe, these are serving their purpose better than anything I've ever tried. They also aren't overly hot. I find them to be comfortable (shoes during lifting used to bother me so much that I'd do it in socks or barefoot). Very comfortable for someone like me that really doesn't like shoes.

Great for light daily wear—super comfy and supportive!
I don’t wear these all day, but for the few hours I do—whether I’m running errands, on my feet for a part-time shift, or just out for a walk—they’ve been fantastic. I wanted something lightweight, breathable, and supportive without feeling stiff or bulky, and these WHITIN barefoot shoes really deliver. The wide toe box is one of my favorite features. My feet can actually relax and spread out naturally, which feels so much better than being crammed into narrow shoes. The zero-drop sole took a little getting used to, but now I really appreciate how grounded and balanced I feel when I wear them. Even just wearing them for a few hours a day, I’ve noticed less foot fatigue and better posture. Plus, they’re cute in a sporty, simple way—super easy to match with leggings, jeans, or casual outfits. If you’re curious about barefoot-style shoes but don’t need them for full-day wear, I’d still recommend trying these. They're a great intro to minimalist footwear and super budget-friendly compared to other brands.

Not real barefoot shoes
These are comfortable but they are not real barefoot shoes because they are not zero drop sole.

Great barefoot shoe for the price
I rarely leave a review but really want to for these shoes. After several family members singing the praises of barefoot shoes I wanted to try a pair but was unwilling to spend $100 or more on the unknown. I did some independent looking at consumer reviews and time and again the Whitin brand came up as an inexpensive option in the barefoot shoe market. One thing of note was that these are stitched, not glued as many other less pricey brands are. I also read suggestions that if you are new to barefoot shoes you should ease into them. These shoes arrived yesterday. I wore them around the house, did a short workout and took a short walk. Today I’ve worn them for several hours as I worked in my yard and ran errands. I can’t yet speak to the overall durability but for comfort and fit, I’m sold! I typically wear shoe size 10-11 so bought the 10.5-11 wide and the fit is perfect. I’m anxious to try some of the other Whitin styles.

Shoes wore out in a month and no company contact
Within about a month the inner lining above the big toe tore in the left shoe. Within a short time after, less than 2 months the inner lining tore in the same place in the right shoe and the outer material is separating from the sole. I'm not a big Amazon shopper and life is too busy for me to come back to the computer to check to see when I ordered something to see if it is still within the window to return, so of course I've missed that. I would say I've worn these with average wear. I do a fair amount of walking, but I'm not hiking mountains or anything like that. This is super disappointing because these shoes were very comfortable, even as my first pair of "barefoot" shoes and I felt I was walking better, more upright. Its also quite disappointing that if you go to the company's website, there is no way to contact them. I will be checking for that before making future online purchases and I will not be making additional purchases or recommending WHITIN. I had originally planned to try them myself and then purchase for my husband and son if they worked out. Its only because I'm not a huge online shopper that kept me from getting online and already making additional purchases since they were so comfortable, so this company will lose out. It looks like enough people like them, or submitted a review before the shoes broke/tore, that they probably won't miss my contribution to their profits though. The pictures are of the same tear, one zoomed out so you can see where on the shoe it is, the other zoomed in. I can't get pictures of the inside tears since its in the toe box, but I can feel them with every step. As you can see, minus some dust, they otherwise look to be in good condition, indicating I'm not exposing them in outrageous conditions.
