Nice Light, Very Bright
The light arrived undamaged and looks to be very well made. It's very bright and the light output is uniform. We're very happy with it. I will say that it's difficult to get the light attached to the base. I would recommend two DIY-inclined adults to do the final attachment. It was a struggle to do it with my wife. It is also difficult to be sure that the clips are fully engaged because you can't see the clips when the light is in place. I would recommend some kind of external indicator to be sure it is locked. I would also make sure your ceiling is reasonably flat or you will be unhappy with the gaps between the light and the ceiling.

Great light. Easy to install
Wish it got a tad more dim but that may just be the switch I’m using. Otherwise it’s a great light panel and very easy to install.

SUPER bright. Nice light. Arrived damaged
We got this to replace a fluorescent fixture in our kitchen. I figured that the 5800 lumens would match the similar rating of 2 narrow 4 foot fluorescent tubes (about 5600 lumens). However, this light was much much brighter than the old one. My wife commented that she could do surgery in the kitchen now. Our kitchen lights spills into our living room, so we didn't like the extra glaring brightness at night.Another problem: the unit we ordered actually arrived with a big dent in the side. This was covered by some packaging so I didn't notice until I was installing it. Not only did it look bad, but the dent caused a large shadow in the otherwise even illumination. The light shipped in a box that is barely bigger than the unit, so it's not surprising that some rough handling caused a dent. I didn't have any problem getting a return authorization from Amazon, though.Because of the dent and the brightness, we returned the 2' x 4' model for a 1' x 4' fixture from the same manufacturer. It seems like we got the last one (it was open box), because both Amazon and Hamilton Hills (the manufacturer) are out of this size now. The smaller size is rated at 4800 lumens but it is a good replacement for the fluorescent light we had before.Installation of both units was very easy. Taking down the first unit and replacing with the second, which was a different size and required drilling new holes, took less than half an hour. On the undamaged unit, the lighting is bright and uniform. The switch for changing color temperature was very simple and did what it was supposed to. We chose a warm 3000K. This was a very nice feature to have. Overall very pleased after a little hassle. We like the smaller size, but the large size could be good if you have a large space or high ceilings, or you just like a lot of light. The smaller size said that you could use a dimmer switch on it, though that is not mentioned for the larger size.

Well designed, high quality LED panel
The G2 12x48 LED panel is a quality product. The light panel has a metal back and was assembled with screws rather than crimps or rivets. It has a white-anodized extruded aluminum frame that's welded at the corners. The diffuser lens is a typical textured plastic, and works nicely. The LED driver's color control switch works well. There's a 3000K setting similar to old-school incandescent, a 5000K "bright white" closer to daylight and a 4000K middle setting (which I chose). I recommend powering up the panel before you start the installation so you can decide which color temperature you like. I would guess the brightness is comparable to an old-school four-bulb 48" T12 fixture. Though the description claims "instant on", I found that mine isn't. there's a noticeable delay (maybe half a second) between the switch turning on and the light coming on. That's not unusual for a fixture with a separate driver module, but it's not really "instant on" as claimed. Installation was pretty easy. The safety cables are a necessity for 1-person install (some cheaper fixtures don't have them). The included #8 machine screws didn't work with my ceiling box, so I had to buy 3" #10-32 screws. I also used some heftier drywall anchors that I had on-hand rather than the ones included with the fixture. When mating the LED panel with the mounting bracket, getting all four "hooks" engaged simultaneously can bit tricky for one person. It's doable with a bit of patience, but would be a lot easier with a second pair of hands to help. When trying to get the light panel to slide onto all four hooks, make sure you haven't trapped wire nuts between the LED driver housing and the mounting bracket (I think that's what prevented my first few attempts from working).

Okay fixture, not good for uneven ceilings, not attractive
Likes: Lots of Light, not crazy expensive, USA made to has actual certificationsDislikes: Not easy to install on uneven celling, lights is warmer than settings, quality control: came with wire nuts missing on connections that are supposed to be pre-wired (not talking about hot/neutral/GND), Ugly

Good Light.... Bad packaging...
Overall, we really like the light. It is bright. We bought this for our kitchen and like it. It's flush mount and white coloring make it almost invisible on the ceiling. It is bright, and I like the color temp switch for you personal likeing. It has yellow, white and blue light. We chose the white.Okay, now for the bad. The packaging did not have a screw kit. There were no anchors or any screws. Fortunately I keep that stuff around. So i was able to mount the light. It is a heavy light, So a one person install is not going to happen unless you have a jack stand that person posted a picture of. The color temp switch is on the side of the light that is mounted to the ceiling. You are not able to change the color once the light is installed without taking the light down, changing the switch and then re-installing the light.Overall we are very happy with this light and would do it again.
