Book has loads of recipes that change a regular cake into something special. Most extra ingredients are items I already have so it’s easy to make.

Fast delivery. Excellent condition. Nice note from seller. Would have liked color photos on each page with cake recipes but in beginning of the cookbook there were pages of small color photos of each cake with corresponding page number of recipe.

I love the original - my copy is well used. The deluxe edition has a Blue Ribbon Recipes section with 20 reader recipes!

I purchased this fantastic cake book about 3 weeks ago. First I made the Snickerdoodle Cake with homemade Cinnamin Butter Cream frosting. The cake baked up so nicely in a 13 X 9 bake pan. THE FROSTING IS SO YUMMY it was hard not to just eat it up with a spoon. I also made a chocolate cake mix with the same frosting above. Yum.For a 4th of July get together with family I made Susan's Lemon Cake. The jello was fantastic in this recipe, it added so much flavor! I also added the juice from 2 lemons and the zest of 1 lemon. It was very pretty all frosted up and it was simply wonderful. I loved it, so did my family.Since my bundt cake pan only holds 10 cups I baked this cake in a 13 X 9 inch pan.Today I ordered myself a Nordic Ware Special anniversary "12 cup Bundt pan" from Amazon. It is cast iron aluminum, not a light weight pan. I also purchased three cookbooks. I guess I am spoiling myself because my birthday is on Saturday. One cookbook is all about learning to make homemade biscuits. When I have tried on my own the biscuits always turned out tough like rocks. I finally gave up and turned to Bisquick. Another is a book called Kiss my Bundt Cake, it sounded interesting and it is full of delicious cake recipes ( from scratch )for my new Bundt pan. The third book was about Southern cooking, recipes by a Mrs. Rowe.Since my birthday is on July 9th, which is really just a few days away, my husband asked me to pick a recipe that I would enjoy from my new cookbook. I choose the Fuzzy Navel Cake which he can bake in my new Bundt pan. It sounds delicous!! This will be the first time ( in 27 years of marriage ) that he has said that he would bake me a birthday cake. I am pleased.Thanks for listening. Enjoy this book and all of its recipes. I never much enjoyed making cakes before, I usually made cookies. There are some wonderful cookie recipes made with cake mixes too. I have made one recipe ( twice ) with Devil's Food chocolate cake mix. It was real tasty; with dry oatmeal, chocolate chips, pecans.... I found this recipe on line. I just typed in on Google, "cake mix cookies".

From a Die-Hard Baker
I used to pride myself on my baked goods and for years made all my cakes and cookies from scratch - in fact, I turned up my nose at cake mixes. But now, with an 11-month old baby, cake mix cakes are all that I make! You'll find many delicious recipes in this book, and most can be whipped up and in the oven in under 30 minutes. I find it easiest and quickest to bake the cakes in a tube pan, and make a simple glaze to drizzle on top. Most also freeze well, so sometimes I'll bake a cake in two loaf pans and store one in the freezer to have available later. I probably bake several cakes a month - to give as thank-you's, to welcome new neighbors, to bring to dinners at friends', for my husband to take to work. You'll also find that once you get the hang of making these cakes, you'll come up with your own combinations. Don't be afraid to deviate from the cake mix and pudding flavors suggested in the recipes. My favorite combination, one that I use in many of the recipes, involves Duncan Hines Golden Butter Recipe and Butterscotch pudding mix. One recipe that took me by surprise was the biscotti - so easy, and so delicious! My only complaint about the book is that Anne offers helpful hints (e.g., substituting pan sizes, add-ins for cakes, loaf pan ideas) that are sprinkled rather haphazardly throughout the book. I find myself marking these pages with little stickies so that I can find them easily. These are the top ten recipes that I've had the greatest success with, received many compliments on, and that I make over and over again: 1 Kathy's Cinnamon Breakfast Cake (try the DH Golden Butter / Butterscotch pudding combo here - it's fantastic!) 2 Orange Dreamsicle Cake 3 Chocolate Praline Cake 4 Biscotti (try DH Golden Butter with mini chocolate chips) 5 Orange-Cinnamon Poppyseed Cake 6 Lemon Buttermilk Poppyseed Cake 7 Banana Cake 8 Favorite Apricot Nectar Cake (try coming up with your own flavor combinations, such as Pineapple cake mix, Orange Jello, and Guava nectar) 9 Pineapple Inside-Out Cake 10 Amaretto Cake And some recipes I didn't like so much: Triple-Decker Strawberry Cake (tasted like Crunchberry cereal) Toasted Coconut Sour Cream Cake (just okay, not impressed) Incredible Melted Ice-Cream Cake (haven't had great success finding an ice-cream flavor that works well in this recipe) Chocolate Better Than ? Cake (dry, not that good) Chocolate Pistachio Cake (flavor was strange) Double-Chocolate Chewies (didn't taste that great) Penuche Frosting (too difficult to work with, sets up too quickly) Have fun! - See more at: [...]

l never eat a plain box cake again
Cake manufacturers now put in less ounces of their powder batter in the same size box since this book was written. But you'll never make another cake without this book. Look at her other books on this subject if you're smart.

Excellent cookbook. Good pictures showing every cake (not just some of them) and easy, well written directions. Have been baking for 40 years & this book is is superb! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good book but not for the health conscious!
Good book with lots of good recipes but not if you are watching what you eat! Some recipes have a pound of butter!!

I love this cookbook
I love this cookbook. I had a hard copy but lent it someone who never returned it. I was very lucky to be able to get another one even though it is paperback.
