Ok so my use of this stuff isn't for baking... it's the active ingredient in most of the *very pricey* hunger suppressing low calorie diet drinks. I was using one from Pl**us that was $3 a drink! I researched the ingredients and realized all I needed to do to make the same thing at home, was buy polydextrose and mix into a water or low calorie drink. So that's what I do. 200g is around 30 servings, and 1kg over 150, making it around 25 cents a drink! And it works *just as good* as the Pink Drink, minus all the bogus supplements that don't really matter. I've lost 25 lbs in 3 months by sipping on it to kill hunger when I dont need to eat. I just wish the 1kg came in a wide mouth jar instead of a resealable bag. The zipper gets dunked up and I wind up pouring it into other containers to store and dispense from. I'd happily pay a radio more for more user-friendly packaging.

I've been using polydextrose for about 4 years in vegan, low fat, low sugar ice cream. I've used 3 different brands and all 3 of them worked well to replace the bulk and texture of real sugar. However, they don't all taste or mix the same. This one mixes well with other ingredients and has a very pleasant, mildly sweet flavor with no strange aftertaste. I look forward to trying it in some baked goods. Recommended!!
