Deliciously Yummy!!
I'm an RN with insulin dependent diabetic who has consistently cooked healthy but very tasty meals for my family members for MANY years and now my adult children do the same for their families. The recipes in this cookbook are so easy and simple that I will be trying ALL of them, even my husband devours everything I make especially when he doesn't know how healthy it is!

Does not match the diet
This book is misleading and does NOT follow the guidelines of the Fast metabolism diet... Including many recipes with items not allowed in the foods list.

Doesn't make sense to cook at home from processed food.
As I am approaching my fifties, the metabolism topic became more important than ever and I wanted to give this book a try.The book is divided into sections. In the beginning it is explained why it is important to reset the metabolism and when and how. Then the 4-week plan is explained. Then comes the part with recipe sections: Breakfast, Fish and Seafood, Poultry and Meat, Vegetables and Grains, Snacks and Sweets. If the border of each section would be a different color, it'd be easier to navigate this book. The recipe part didn't work for me. I just found a few recipes, that suit my taste and need. But most of them I have to adjust, and find the substitute for the ingredients I don't eat. And some diet tendencies don't make sense. Like, I can eat pork, but not full fat yogurt? And as I try to avoid all the processed food, I don't eat anything "low fat", so why would I spend time cooking at home from processed food? Doesn't make sense. And I wish the recipes were more from the whole food, not canned or frozen. But that's my personal preference and, of course, I can always exchange the store bought for cooked at home. I think the recipes in this book are generic, nothing original, and of a poor choice of ingredients.

Verify the macros!
I was looking into getting this book but the sample recipe on this Amazon page gave me pause. First off, it's made with a really processed cookie and a sweetened version of yogurt. This seemed off. Then I looked at the nutritional information following that recipe and Wow! it is not accurate. The total carbs listed for a "serving" which would be 1 1/2 sandwiches...and odd serving to begin with is 4.I figured the macros for one sandwich (the recipes makes 6 of them - two cookies each and 1/6 of a cup of non fat vanilla greek yogurt) She says a serving has 4 g carbs and 24 g of protein. The entire cup of yogurt only has 20 grams of protein and 8 cookies has 1 gram so where is all that protein coming from? Then each cookie has 3 g of carbs making 6 per sandwich. The yogurt has 21 grams of carbs in a cup or 3.5 g per 1/6 of a cup. That 9.5 grams! Much more than her recipe states. Between the quality of ingredients used and the inaccurate calculations I'm passing on this book.If you use it, be sure to check her math. Finally, I calculated those macros using Nilla reduced fat vanilla wafers and Stoneyfield organic nonfat vanilla greek yogurt.

Well written. Easy to read format.
As someone who works night and takes care of a toddler by day, I’ve had a hard time keeping up with any form of dieting. This book has a great format of all the ingredients I need to buy for the week as well as some easy to do at home exercises. So you do have some frozen bags of food and the use of foil etc... I for one have zero issues with the use of these items. Some people do & if that’s you, this is not the book for you. However I feel this book is wrote for people who need time and if using foil or non-stick items is going to help me clean faster.. I’m all for it.I’ve only tried a few of the recipes but so far they have been tasty. I’ve had a few issues because I don’t eat pork but I’ve just been making my own substitutes.

NOT FOR US
Most of these books are American so we Brits really don’t know a lot of the recipe items. My husband didn’t like the recipes one bit, especially the oats soaked overnight with grated carrot and cinnamon. We only got to halfway through week 2 and went back to eating tasty food. I wish someone British would write this diet.

Not impressed
Not happy with this book at all! Have to buy lots of groceries for 4 weeks and more if you want to continue with it. Plus there are hardly any substitutes. I don't eat seafood and several of the veggies and they have no substitute for them. Need to get my money back!
