A true American made flashlight!
It's a Maglight ! Are they cheap, no! Are they going to last, yes! Are they heavy, slightly. Will they break if dropped, hell no! I own a lot of Maglight flashlights, they are the best affordable USA made flashlights, in my opinion. I used them for years, and years at LAX Airport for work. This one is newest to me. This one uses C size batteries, so I bought some high capacity rechargeable batteries, and a charger. It works great, super bright, easy to adjust from spot to flood light with a slide of the head. This also has 3 brightness levels, for longer battery life. It weighs considerably less then my older D battery ones, but just as bright. If you want a great flashlight, to last you years, and years.....pick one up. My last bit of information is the Lifetime warranty. This provides a trust of craftsmanship for sure. I've never had to use it, but it's nice to have. See if your plastic China stuff has that ?! Didn't think so. Get one for your vehicle, you won't be disappointed.

The current king of led flashlights.
The ML line of maglites are great. I bought the original 2 cell ml300lx, 2 cell ml50lx, and two 3 cell ml50l. Maglite fell behind the times as other companies were putting out ultra bright led flashlights. In particular streamlight stingers were dominating with a good size and good output. This line of maglites LEDs puts them back in the spotlight. You get maglites incredible durability, 611 lumens, excellent mode adjustment, and phenomenal run time(up to 153 hours!). I've used these flashlights for duty and they're great. They pump out plenty of lumens (and the new rechargeable model has over 1000 lumens) for whatever task you need. The adjustable mode settings are great, designed for several different uses with an emphasis on law enforcement. And they are very intuitive with one press off, no need to cycle through the modes like you would with other high lumen flashlights. Durability. I've put all of mine through alot, with little more than anno wear on the body. The most notable was a tumble down 25 concrete stairs. It fell end over end and was left with minor scuffs on both ends. Plenty of flashlights offer high lumens and durability. Maglites adjustable mode sets are unique and very functional. Where these maglites really pull away from the pack is in their efficiency. Even on high, a set of batteries will last 16 hours. More than any competitor. Just need a little light, or need to make it through a shift on low/dead batteries? Low mode runs 42hrs, Eco mode runs over 150hrs straight. Untouchable efficiency. Between the brightness, reliability, durability, modes, and efficiency, this is my favorite line of flashlights. The only feature on my wish list would be a recessed tail cap switch. But otherwise this is the current king of lights for me.

Nothing works like a Maglite
It really is hard to beat a Maglite. I have lots of flashlights. And I mean lots. We live in a dark county. In my work I have always needed lights to work in remote, low light areas. Bought this one to clip into a holder by our front door. I love the quick focus feature. The slimmer design of the C cell body is more comfortable to handle. Maglite is a little more expensive than most, but you get what you pay for and they are American made. They are the best general purpose lights on the market in my opinion. The 3C batteries provided an incredible length of light over smaller units. Days rather than hours on low, which is still plenty of illumination. I bought the factory mounts for it and rechargeable LiPo cells. Initial outlay is a little much, but this light is used every day and should serve us for YEARS. They are well worth the price. I have some Maglites I've been using for more than 30 years. With a little care, they will last forever. Remember to check your batteries often. And once a year or so, l disassemble my lights, clean them and reassemble them with a good silicone grease on all the threads and O rings. They are an investment worth making.

Inexpensive Flashlight for Car Emergency Kit
I purchased this flashlight as an addition to my car emergency kit. I liked the basic style and size. The flashlight itself is much lighter than other Maglite products I have encountered even with all 3 C batteries installed. The LED bulb is bright enough to see adequately in the dark. It is easy to accidentally turn on the switch. This happened and the flashlight remained on overnight and did not completely drain the batteries. In the future it will be stored in a pocket to prevent it from rolling around and turning itself on again. Overall, it's a reasonably priced, minimalist flashlight.

Impressive output for the modest price
I already have an LED maglight with 3 c size batteries and like it quite a lot. It is twist to activate with one power setting. I was surprised to see this new one is a bit longer, but has cool new features. It is way brighter than old model amd has a power switch. A single tap gives high power, a double tap or triple tap in quick succession when turning it on give you medium and low power. Wait a couple seconds and the next tap turns it off. I was surprised how well the system works and how bright this light is. The front end twists to focus the beam. It could stand to have more friction. All in all this is a very nice flashlight. Very solid as well.

Still a quality product!
Maglite has been synonymous with quality and heavy-duty for years and that does not seem to have changed. I've been using an old ML300 D-cell flashlight for many years with never a problem. I thought I'd check out the C-cell light because it's LED and much lighter. It works great and includes some alternate lighting modes but can be challenging to switch between them.

Better beam throw than my Streamlight Polystinger LED.
This review is about the MagLite 3 C size battery light (model # ML50L) which I bought on Amazon on June 16, 2016 for $33.63. I have many flashlights but I like flashlights that throw a beam at least 300 meters for my Security job. This flashlight can easily be priced for over $50 just for the illumination, small size and sturdiness, not to mention the well known brand. See my pics of this Maglite compared with my $100 (flashlight only) employer owned Streamlight Polystinger. The beam throw on the cheaper MagLite is awesome. Polystinger is 8.5 inches long and weighs 11.4 oz. Maglite is 10.2 inches long and weighs 16.7 oz (just over 1 pound). Poly's range on high is rated at 322 meters and MagC at 339. Cons- 1)Have to unscrew the tailcap to change out the batteries. I only use rechargeable batteries, currently using EBL brand which I bought on Amazon on Nov. 28, 2015 and haven't failed me yet. 2)No tailcap switch, which improves the tactical-use factor. 3) A little heavier than the Streamlight (see pics). Pro- 1)Sturdier, can be used to whack someone if needed without worrying about breaking it like the plastic on the Polystinger. 2) Adjustable beam from tight hotspot to flood BUT it ins't very much though so keep that in mind. Its flood range is not what it is on the legendary rechargeable MagCharger flashlight. 3) No charger needed, any C sized batteries will do. 4)More lumens on high (633) compared to Polystinger (385) and the Eco setting (25 lumens) is a little lower than the Poly's low mode (95 lumens) and is far more comfortable for indoor everyday use as it is not too bright. 5)PRICE. Very affordable.

Faulty Switch once again
Purchased this as a duty light for work. It seems solidly made and feels sturdy. Maglite usually makes quality products so I purchased this with the belief that it was a compact and durable flashlight. It worked well for around 2 weeks, until it didn't. What I found was that the switch was faulty. It wouldn't register multiple clicks, which is what was needed to switch lighting modes. It would often sense that the button was being held when it was not. It would stay on indefinitely until batteries were removed. I attempted to remove the light housing myself, as you would on any other maglite. However, there is a tiny 0.8 Torx screw which must be removed to remove the switch housing. This torx screw came in the flashlight, already stripped, meaning maintenance and repair was impossible. Return/Warranty was not possible, so I chose instead to send a drill bit through the screw, rip the assembly apart, and toss it in the trash where it belongs. The catharsis was nice, but it didn't put the money back in my pocket.
