Sitka Men's Quiet Gore-Tex Windstopper Insulated Hunting Fanatic Jacket

The jacket is as warm as promised on the Sitka site. I wear it at temps below 35F. On longer walking I either attach hot to the backpack or leave the zipper open. The quality is top notch but the prize is steeper than I would like it. Buy once, cry once, love it forever. I saw comments on previous review that it needs a hood. I disagree. Most likely you will have a hooded sweater or light hooded jacket underneath. If not too cold you can just bring a neck gaiter and hat. I also like the fact that I do not need very thick gloves anymore since the built in handwarmer muff works exceptionally well. It also has built in pockets for thermal packs should you ever decide to go out and hunt in subzero conditions. This jacket will keep you warm.

This Sitka Fanatic jacket is extremely warm, windproof and quiet. It is pricey but its the best cold weather gear I've bought! I also have the bibs, they too are great!The zipper design is unique in that is not " straight up and down" like every coat I've ever seen. It is angled from your right shoulder to the left hip. This allows for a built in hand-muff type of front pocket (just like a front pocket on most pullover hooded sweatshirts). Having one big pocket instead of 2 single pockets results in your hands staying much warmer and with less movement when withdrawing your hands. I'm able to get away with wearing thinner gloves which makes it easier/faster to use a release when bowhunting.I bought the XL size which fits very well.. I'm 6'0 and weigh 220 with farely broad shoulders.Don't try to wear this coat while walking to your stand... you'll be sweatting like a whore in church!

I have been hunting for 45 years.Used this hunting suit during a 10 day bow hunting trip in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan during December, temperatures range between minus 8 to 30 degree and i sit no less than 3 hours at a time, some days from dust to dawn ( 9 hour hunts). I was always warm, garment was quite and i like the design as it was able to use the zippers to regulate my body temperature during the long walks to my tree stand. Pockets are well placed.Because the garment is so warm i did not need to wear lots of layers, i just wore one pair of insulated underwear. Everyone at my camp wants this hunting suit for next year as they had 4-5 layers and became cold after 3 hours.Cost is high for this outfit but worth it.

This is a super warm Berber type coat. Wished it had zipper pocket & a few more of them. It only has the one true pocket up on chest & it don’t zip. Oddly shaped if not zipped all the way up. Size is awkward. I’m 5’9 & 40 inch waist. Ordered 2xl & it is difficult to get around my shoulders. Waist was fine. Returned xxl & bought 3xl. A bit large in sleeves but fits my shoulders much better. Hunting at 10 degrees next week traveling on 4 wheeler to 9,000 feet. Will update after that test.

If you’ve been on the fence about buying this jacket just do it. Buy once cry once. I’m mad I’ve spent this long freezing in the woods when I should’ve just spent the money. Sat this morning with this jacket and just a thermal undershirt on and it was below freezing and I was warm as could be. The pass through pocket for your hands is absolutely amazing and kept my hands warm all morning. The diagonal zipper is a little awkward but is really nice when you sit down and the jacket doesn’t bunch up in front of you. I would absolutely recommend this jacket to anybody

Most comfortable and warmest hunting jacket Ive ever had well worth the money !!! Size up for base layer room.

Just got the fanatic bibs and jacket…thought I’d try it and sit outside in 26 degree weather (perfect Michigan weather by the way). It’s been an hour and it’s feels as though I should be drinking pina-coladas out here. To say that the fanatic set up will keep you warm is an understatement….a more accurate statement would be: “Sitka Fanatic set up, never pay for a heating bill ever again”. I mean….is hot guys, but like pleasantly hot. No one, I mean NO ONE other than Sitka should be allowed to make clothes that are meant to keep you warm. I don’t want anyone complaining about the price either…saying: “I can do this all day” to winter weather is priceless. How is the camo you ask? Great…wife couldn’t see me, dog couldn’t see me…..stealthier than the IRS taxing your paycheck. Buy it!

I'm 5,10 150lbs. Purchased the medium.Fits well with layers underneath while also having a ton of movement. Even when over layered I can still move and draw my bow with 0 issues. This is why I chose sitka. Sometimes the product just speaks for itself.
