This stuff is insane. I cannot explains how or why it works so well!

Seems to do a good job for cleaning firearms, in particular dissolving carbon — I sprayed Strike Hold into a bolt carrier group and pitch black liquid started dripping out of it immediately. It also seems to be able to remove light surface rust. I applied the product to an old steel frame pistol that sat in a safe for many years and when wiping it with a white cotton patch afterwards, the rag had distinct red stains on it. I’ve cleaned five firearms with Strike Hold so far (two of them repeatedly) and it has done a very good job.I’m skeptical of its lubricating and rust prevention abilities. I used Strike Hold on some locks and hinges and they functioned smoothly afterwards. However, on firearms after the product dries, there is considerable friction. It’s probably better than unlubricated metal-on-metal contact, but not as good as a true dry lubricant.Strike Hold also creeps a lot. That's a desirable quality for a penetrating oil and when trying to loosen rusted bolts, but it's not great when trying to lubricate firearms, where you want the lubricant to stay where you put it -- in a worst-case scenario, it could enter a cartridge case or primer and cause a malfunction. After applying Strike Hold on the inside rails of a pistol slide, the 1/8" outside bottom edge picked up a distinct sheen after two days of the pistol sitting upright in a safe. Similar migration was observed on the takedown and anti-walk pins of a carbine lower receiver, which picked up shiny halos around them.Corrosion resistance and rust prevention are also poor compared to many other CLPs based on comparison videos on the Internet. I’m in a fairly dry climate and rust isn’t much of an issue, but it is something to bear in mind if your conditions are different.I’ve only had the product for a few weeks and the jury is still out on how well it performs in the long run. I will update this review as I get more information.Update Jan 18, 2021: I have grown to really like Strike Hold and will be using it exclusively going forward — I just got two more cans which now come with a free small microfiber towel. I also had an opportunity to use Strike Hold on a friend’s sporting shotgun, which needed cleaning and also had picked up some rust around the lock. Strike Hold made short work of both problems without harming the blueing or wood stock.Update Mar 10, 2021: I had previously expressed doubts about Strike Hold’s lubricating ability — those have been eliminated. I recently cleaned a bolt carrier group in a hot ultrasonic bath to thoroughly clean it, and this removed all traces of lubrication and left the metal feeling dry and gritty. After a few short blasts with Strike Hold and a wipedown with a shop towel, it operates smoothly without feeling greasy. I’m upgrading my rating from four stars to five.

You’re a pretty good job cleaning my weapons. I would make the purchase again

This product is exceedingly effective. The product demos on YouTube are very persuasive. When I've used this can up I've already decided to buy more.

Just started using this product about 6 months ago and found it to be an outstanding CLP. Originally got it to “dry lube” my magazines but find myself using this on all parts. Would recommended to anyone that wants excellent protection for their firearms.

Does very well cleaning the barrel when I first got the air rifle. It was quite dirty in the barrel it cleaned it right up. No residue behind love this product.

This stuff works when other products won’t. Great gun cleaner and lubricant
