Worth getting used to!
At first these will feel oddly lumpy, but if you give them time they will offer great comfort to the front of your feet. I have high arches and bunions, and these are helpful in all my shoes and slippers except one or two that can't accommodate the extra thickness.

My experience/ foot type/ condition
Ok so I’m only a week into these but I’m pretty sure these are going to be the best off the shelf orthotic insoles I’m going to find, for my feet.I suffered a SEVERE lisfranc fracture; ie broke three metatarsal bones and disclocated them and other foot bones. 2+ yrs later and my foot still causes me problem (full disclosure never did physical therapy after surgery because I didn’t have health insurance, I just kind of dealt with it and used it more and more as time went on and treated it like I did before the injury.) The biggest issue it gives me is mid stride for no apparent reason I’ll get a shooting pain like i misstepped which reminds me I injured my foot and am not 100%. I’m also flat footed with literally no arch whatsoever when bearing weight and a minuscule arch when no weight is on my feet.So with all that info out of the way. These insoles metatarsal support feels more like an arch support and the padded heel and ball of the the foot areas seem thin in comparison to other insoles I’ve tried. Initially I wasn’t going to give them a try and thought the support would make my feet hurt in the arch of my foot. However my feet feel great, they still get tired and sore after a days worth of work but they feel better than before with other insoles I’ve had, not literally stronger but stronger in the sense of better feeling. The more important thing to me is I’ve yet to experience the abrupt shooting pain I’d experience at least once a day before these insoles. Even when not wearing them my bare feet walking at home feel more stable (the tripod support) like a good foot should feel.In summery these insoles worked for me. The only thing I’d like to see improved would be better or more cushiony/ bouncy like padding in the heel and especially the ball of the foot area. As is is good but I think it would be more comfortable with a gel pad.Note I also followed the sizing recommendation; ie my foot measurement and NOT my shoe size, which I think makes a big difference too. I ordered a size medium based on my foot of 10.5” vs my shoe size that ranges between 10.5-11.5 depending on the shoe brand/ style of shoe.

Works Amazingly Well
(This is Tim Graves, I share an Amazon account with Suzanne).Due to nerve damage in the toes of my right foot, I've worn some type of orthotic insert for about 20 years. Most of the last half of that time I've been wearing the Birkenstock Blue Footbed inserts. The Birkenstock's work well but they're (i) rigid (not cushioning) and (ii) expensive ($60 a pair).Because I'm retired and without a limitless supply of money, I decided to search for an alternative to the Birkenstock inserts. I found these and I simply love them. The pad under ball of foot separates your toes and provides wonderful cushioning. I feel almost zero stinging in my toes when I walk wearing these.I'd give them 6 stars if I could. Buy them, you won't regret it.

Better than custom
My orthopedist referred me to a custom orthotics place that took molds of my feet and then proceeded to never make them and never return my 12 calls over a 3 month span. I was desperate to get out of my walking cast because it messed up my back. So I took a chance on these. They are perfect. They lift the metatarsal area so it takes the pressure off the foot and it can heal. I’m finally getting relief after being in pain for 7 months. And… these are so affordable and fit in all my shoes. It’s important to understand that the orthotics are built up just under the metatarsal pad in order to lift up the area and keep it from contacting pressure when the foot hits the ground. They aren’t supposed to sit directly under them or it would hurt. So make sure they are all the way T the back of your shoe before putting your foot in. Very happy with these and ordering more.

Do Not Recommend
I ordered these to try to relieve pain in one of my feet from a neuroma on the ball of my foot. Only could stand them 15 minutes. Arch way too hard. Also caused my feet to tilt outward making my previously injured ankles to throb. I returned them and got my money back. I would rate no stars, but it won't let me. Save your money and avoid these.

Rolled my foot into terrible position
These seemed like they'd be comfortable, but the metatarsal pad is so big it actually rolled my foot into a position like I was standing on the outside of my feet, arches facing upward. As I walked in them my feet (and knees) rolled from one position to the other, completely destabilizing my knees. Couldn't wear them for 1 minute. Might fit others and seem decently made, but not for me!

Relief finally
I have been struggling for nearly two years with wearing footwear and even short walks. I have dreaded winter footwear. I would experience a burning sensation in my middle toes, then an excruciating pain I can only describe as feeling like my toes were broken. Wear shoes with these insoles has change my life drastically. I can now go for walks again!
