How To Crackle ?
The media could not be loaded. Loved the product. Learned a few lessons in the process and I’m sharing it for all my DIY lovers.Tips: 1) Faster this product drys the less it will crackle if at all. Avoid direct sunlight and heat. Best used indoors or garage. If you spray it outside move it inside quickly and I mean quickly! Allowing it to dry at its own speed is key!2) Blowing on it will with medium pressure will amplify and encourage the crackle effect! Don’t blow too hard or you’ll damage the crackle & move the paint like a tear. The video shows everything. I hope it helps. How Too!Brands I used: Krylon and Rust -Oleum1) Spray Base color. Get full color coverage. Let fully Dry!2) Be quick with this step! Have your crackle paint can nicely shaken, spray a little from can to get paint going… have it close by and ready to grab!Spray base color again. Cover project nicely and with amply product. Make sure it’s wet. No more than 2 or 3 seconds you’re going to hit it with the crackle spray paint! Move Fast on this step. Then watch it crackle!Practice/test on a paper plate. Recommend!Welcome & Enjoy!

Please don't buy it
This stuff is junk and a rip off. Spray cans don't spray paint and that's the whole reason I bought it but really it's just a crappy paper weight for my garage. Don't waste your money.

Ignored the Instructions, Came out Perfect!
I'm a leather artist who makes guitar straps, so my finishes all have to be flexible and can't peel or flake. I completely ignored the directions on the can and my leather came out perfect! When I purchased this, I couldn't even find a can of the Base coat, so I skipped it. I put a fairly thick coat of Gray acrylic leather paint down first, and did not let it dry for any more than the amount of time it took to take it outside. Then I sprayed the Montana Traffic Black Top coat right on top of the wet paint. I sprayed in the shade, then dragged my cardboard paint-drop into the sun (a blow dryer would have been my choice if there was no sun). My leather pieces crackled beautifully within about 30 seconds. It dried quickly, let it dry for maybe 10 minutes. I lightly brushed some paint dust off, sprayed it with a light coat of MSC, and finished it with a light rub-down with an acrylic finisher. It's perfect, very flexible, won't crack or peel, and I can use any color I want for the base coat. I'll try a couple of different base colors soon! Photo is of the leather strips when finished, edges have been beveled and dyed red.

Does not spray at first but, after a couple of tries it sprays
I removed the safety ring per the instructions but, the can was not pressurized. I sprayed for about 3 seconds, next day it sprayed some more. Now it sprays just fine. Don't know why.

Works great once you get it right
Two guitar projects I used the black crackle spray paint on. 3 coats of base coat, dry for about an hour (touch dry) then spray a good coat of crackle, the thicker the bigger the cracks. You never know how it's going to crack. If the base coat paint is too wet the crackle paint won't work.

Issues
Instructions not beginner friendly. Hazing is not mentioned which must be corrected with clear. Needs very heavy application. Also nozzles tend to come snapped off or missing altogether. They need to start shipping with caps. It’s frivolous not to. I got a great result. I’m also a professional. Hobbyist could be frustrated by lack of instruction etc.

Not good. Dripped clogged
The media could not be loaded. Clogged. Dripped all over my deck. One can will not work at all. I would like my money refunded. ASAP. I will send back the cans. Not a good product. I am an artist. Work with different mediums. Thanks Ruth.

Big pass
Shook can as instructed. From the second I started, the paint dripped out of the can all over the place. Then the crackle was non existent.
