is pretty cheaply made
Huge tacky logo from Ohio Homebrewing that i can't remove. Tons of large packing and inventory stickers, and they left a hard tacky sticker-glue inside and out, which made initial clean up and sanitation extra difficult and long.I also noticed the bucket, while yes this is an inexpensive item, is pretty cheaply made. Very thin plastic, rubber bung hold is not seated flush in the lid. The lid is very difficult to close and make a tight seal. I actually thought fermentation wouldn't start, and after ruling out the yeast found that the bucket lid isn't fitting well.I've bought other great products from this seller, but this item won't be purchased again from them. I'm happy i figured that out with a small 2-gallon rather than a 5- or 6-gallon order.Edit: added pictures. The lid is definitely not a good fit.

For the love of God don't buy this bucket
Why on earth would anyone make a bucket with a drilled lid and grommet for an air check valve when the lid itself isn't airtight? It makes absolutely no sense. It's not even water-tight. This bucket will literally leak fluid around the edges if you shake it any. For the love of God don't buy this bucket.

Not recommended to ferment beer.
I do not recommend this bucket to be used as a fermenter and I'll definitely not buy it again.I bought this to ferment beer. After 24 hours of pitching the yeast, the air lock was still not showing any activity so I opened the bucket and sealed the top/lid with 5 layers of plastic film and closed it again. I also wrapped the airlock that goes in the hole on the lid with sealing tape as it could also be licking air from there. Few seconds after I did that, the airlock started to show activity.

Maybe doesn't seal the best?
Good bucket so far. I've successfully made four gallons of Mead with these buckets, and I plan on using them many, many more times. My only concern is that I never been able to observe the airlock working with these buckets. The gases that are produced are obviously getting out somehow, but it hasn't been through the airlock. I actually have had to pop the lid on every batch a few days into fermentation to make sure my yeast took off correctly, since I don't see the gas passing through the airlock.

Great if air tight is not important
This is my second one and I don't care for this one at all. I use this to ferment experiment batches of mead, cider & beer and like to gauge the bubbling of the airlock to see if the sugars are all consumed (prior to checking final gravity). The leak is so bad in this thing that the airlock will show minimal action at peak fermentation. After 2 days of pitching yeast, I will get bubble every 40 seconds verses every 2 seconds in my airtight fermenter. There is almost no need for the drilled hole. It's the same brand/maker as my other 2 gal fermenter but the lid is the main difference. The good one is branded with Midwest Brewing Supplies on it and the bad one has Ohio Home Brew. I think I can rectify this problem by buying a "lid with seal" on it.If an airtight seal is not a priority then this bucket is for you. I don't like taking excessive gravity checks and risk contamination because the CO2 is not exiting through the airlock.

Bucket with a terrible lid
Look it's a bucket...that's fine. The lid is terrible, it snaps into place firmly, but like many other have pointed out it leaks terribly. Someone tried to save money by making a lid without a rubber seal in the lid. It's salvageable, use some electrical tape around the bucket lid after snapping into place. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone with such a disappointing lid, you can get better combinations. If you do just remember to use some electrical tape around the lid, two wraps and tuck under the lip. I won't be buying this set again, that's for sure. Also won't be buying from Midwest Homebrewing, they obviously don't care about what they sell to their consumers.

Not airtight
I bought this to brew beer but it is not airtight. You won't see any activity in your airlock. My beer oxidized very quickly in this fermenter and I ended up throwing out the entire batch and ordering a new fermenter.

Not airtight. Useless.
It is not airtight. Not sure if through the rim or the drilled hole. Virtually useless if you really care about air seeping in. Even if you're not that picky, checking the fermentation is made much harder because the airlock won't bubble nearly as much and you won't get an idea of how active your brew is being, without opening the bucket or listening to it, that is.
