Another great Shun Premier knife to add to the collection
Bought this to add to my collection of Shun Premier knives. Classy look and feel, very sharp, a bit on the lightweight side, but well-balanced and easy on the hands. Got it on sale so it was a good value for the money. No issues with rust with these high-quality knives.

The BEST Utility knife ever!
Decided to treat myself to some "good knives" and talked to some chef friends. Oh, I am beyond happy with this utility knife purchase 5 months ago! I use it for just about anything. I also bought the Shun TDM0723 Premier Chef's Knife, 6-Inch & Kai Diamond and Ceramic Retractable Knife Sharpener (Bundle), and love that one too. Still, this utility knife with it's "sharp/serrated" cutting edges are so useful for what I do in the kitchen. I use this on veggies of all kinds, some meats, to cut sandwiches, ets. If you can afford one knife, get this one to start. And to protect its sharpness, only use a acacia or other wood cutting board (not plastic). And please, everytime I use these knives I remind myself "respect the knife"! These are super sharp! I admit that I've gotten "close" and thinned out my left index finger's nail! It's still as sharp as the day I bought it 5 months ago and I love to cook a lot. Forget about the ceramic knives; junk compared to this high quality beauty. Been down that road, never to return!

Shun the Other Knives
The German knives are great, last a lifetime — but these are a cut above — thinner, sharper, more precise kitchen tools. Be careful though: the tip broke off of a previous Shin knife of this type, in a lower quality model, due to its thin blade and possible misuse. I always hand wash and dry these knives and place them in their holder — never leave them sitting around, in sink, dishwasher or anything. They are like my shop tools, US or German made. High quality tools that last — but must be maintained, kept clean and in their place, ready for use.

Buy it!
Well worth the money! This knife is so sharp. I'm putting the chef knife on my Christmas list, if I can wait that long. This knife cuts tomato and any waxie vegetable with unbelievable ease. The handle is very comfortable and the knife is beautiful. I've recently upgraded my knife skills and I appreciate having a better quality tool.

Shun Premier Serrated Utility Knife - Best slicing knife I own
Amazon via JL Hufford had the Shun Premier Serrated Utility Knife discounted and I decided to give it try. I have other Shun knives and they are some of the finest knives I own. The knife arrived and was packaged well. I took the knife out of the package and it appeared way too small to be an adequate utility knife. Wow, was I wrong. This little utility knife with the serrated to edge to serrated blade is the finest slicer I have ever used. It can slice fruits and vegetables as thin as you want. Tomato slicing is so easy with this tool. Also, slicing crusty French or rustic breads is no problem with this little beauty.

cuts
compared to other Shun knives, I was disappointed..... there is no sedation in the middle third of this knife and the sharpness doesn't compare with other Shun knives I've used.

Very sharp, chops through carrots like butter!
Bought this knife and the nikiri for my husband who loves to cook. They are beautiful, easy to hold, well balanced, and very sharp. We will slowly build our collection, as now our other knifes seem antiquated.
