A high-quality product!
I enjoy these oat groats so much that I've had them on Subscribe & Save for several months now. They've long replaced my habit of eating instant oatmeal once I learned about the nutritional value of oat groats. I use this product for meal prep as my daily breakfast. 1 cup of rinsed oat groats to 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil & then reduce heat to simmer for about 55 mins. Once done, remove from heat and let sit, covered, for about 24 hrs in the same pot, and all remaining liquid should be absorbed by then. Next, I mix in a can of beans, coconut powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and then transfer to individual mason jars. As the days go by, I add different berries, Yupik Walnuts, and nut milks for some variety. This aligns with my style of plant-based eating. I highly recommend this product, and I'm quite pleased with the brand itself.

Best groats I've found so far.
Great product. The groats are clean and free of chaff. They have a nice hearty texture with a slightly nutty flavor.

SO affordable, but so worth it
I followed some other people saying how they would cook these in a crockpot overnight on the warm setting. That works perfectly, I still have a few bags of steel cut oats I purchased earlier and they are still pretty good. This, though I have gone through most of the bag and well, not to be too detailed, the effects of the fiber and what I can only call wholesomeness is evident. I feel full from morning till about 1 o'clock, so for a little over seven hours, I don't even feel hungry with just 1/4 cup in water. I add a low sugar yogurt with this, some bee pollen, a little cinnamon, a bit of red palm oil and some stevia and just a pinch of salt....perfect morning breakfast! The flavor is slightly nutty and otherwise neutral. The texture, and it is still firm but not hard or chewy, just right. Better texture than steel cut oats. Of all the oats I have eaten, this has the best texture. I really feel that this is top shelf oats, but they are more affordable than the other oats I buy. Just winning on this one.

Would be better...
Nothing wrong with this product great for savory dish or breakfast. I like the fact that you can cook longer or less to get the desired mouth feel that you want. Especially like this as a side dish with mushroom and or grilled veggies mixed in. A meal in itself. I can make up a plain batch and have warmed for breakfast by adding cream, fruit, nuts. Good chewy texture. Keeps me satisfied.

Here are the missing cooking instructions
These are good oat groats, but there is zero instruction for cooking either on the package or on the company's website. FWIW: 50g (1/3c) of groats + 100 ml (2/3c) of water and a pinch of salt will make a 1-cup serving in an instant pot. Cook on manual or high pressure 30 minutes, then allow another 30 minutes while it naturally releases and keeps warm for chewy groats. If you like them softer, leave on keep warm longer.

Many unhulled oats ruin smooth texture of creamy groats
I have now bought a half-dozen or so bags of this product, so obviously it's good, but something keeps occurring that's wrecking these groats for me: there are so many unhulled oats. I soak them for 6 hours before cooking them for approx. 8 hours in a crockpot on low heat, with 4 parts water to 1 part oat groats. The result is creamy and great, except for having an unhulled groat in almost every bite! The contrast between the creamy groats and the groats still with hulls is extremely jarring, because the oats with hulls feel like sandpaper to your teeth. After the 6 hr. soak I vigorously rub them against the screen I use to drain them, and that does not get the ones still with hulls to release their hulls. I asked Perplexity.ai "how are oats hulled on a commercial scale to produce oat groats?" and discovered getting oat hulls off is very complex, so whatever company is doing the dehulling needs to improve their process. Youpik distributor in New Jersey, please note.
