Can these be used for an enclosed ceiling light?

Not sure if they are listed to be in enclosed fixtures or not but l do have a few bulbs in enclosed fixtures and have zero issues.

What is the diameter of this bulb?

It's a standard size 40 watt bulb. The diameter for 40 watts generally only come in one size. I hope this helps!

will it work with an in wall timer? I am returning the led non dimmable because it doesn't so want to know if dimmable would work with a timer

I don’t know if it will work with a timer, but one thing I do know is... that these are crap!! All of the light I bought flicker and now don’t even work! We bought them a month ago! I wish I would have just bought more Hue lights! They have lasted going on 2.5 years!
