Amazing cup!!!
This cup is amazing! Works just like it says, even better actually. It even works for carbonated beverages without leaking. It has changed my daughter's life. She's nonverbal and wheelchair bound & no longer has to wait for someone to offer her a drink. Worth is every penny!I'm impressed at how well it is made. The plastic around the straw tubing is very thick and hard. Impossible to chew through. Tubing can be removed and replaced it looks like simple aquarium tubing and it's also impossible to chew through.

Gives my husband some independance.
My husband is a quadriplegic, before we got this, he would get thirsty at night while I was sleeping and would either have to wake me up to give him a drink or just wait until I woke up. I have this mounted on the side rail of his hospital bed and he can now drink whenever he wants without needing to wait or ask for someone to give him a drink. It makes him feel better that he can do it on his own without asking for help. Yes, it is expensive (very very expensive), but it was worth it for us to give him some happiness.

Good
No major flaws, only issue is cleaning the straw.

This thing is great!
I’m a quadriplegic, C3 SCI 19 years. I’ve used several hands free drinking systems ove the years, and the Giraffe is by far the best. First, I really like the appearance of the system. All of the systems I’ve previously used have looked medical. Some had hospital names, etc. The giraffe looks like a regular water bottle, just with a big-ass strawSecondly, the giraffe is easy to position. I’ve got zero upper body function, so that’s mucho important. Moved a tiny bit going over rough terrain, but I’m able to grab the straw with my teeth and pull it to meThird, it’s easy to use. The anti-backflow valve keeps water in the end of the tubing, so all you have to do is take a tiny sip, after initially drawing water through the straw. No other drinking system had this feature, and ultimately it is what sets the giraffe apart as a superior product.

Round-Tube Mounted holder is garbage, system is overpriced
I've been recommending this system to everyone who saw it in the rehab center but I am going to stop doing so because the round-tube mounted holder is so, so difficult to install or adjust, it ruins the entire experience.I've never seen a consumer product this difficult to install aimed at people with accessibility issues. They seem to be assuming everyone who installs this is an expert bike mechanic who can spin a small Allen wrench (Cheap, but difficult to find at a store and NOT INCLUDED!) in a tightly confined area while holding a rubber piece with your third hand. It's ridiculous. Do not buy this product unless you have another way to hold the bottle. A great bottle that flops around out of reach totally defeats the purpose of this overpriced product.

Great but read directions first!!
First and foremost read the directions! We did not and made a HUGE mess. If it is not located below your mouth once you start to suck, the liquid will not stop coming out of the straw until the bottle is empty. Once we figured this out we were all set!! I love the different pieces to hold the bottle when not in your chair. The manufacture website has a weighted cup holder and an under the mattress/cushion support. I can not recommend this enough. The only drawback is I wish the bottle was bigger to hold more liquid.

Not good if you have to move the straw around.
I got this for my elderly mom, to be a visual reminder to drink fluids during the day. I liked it because it does not look like a hospital bottle. I didn't realize the importance of having a one way valve, so the straw leaks if it gets pushed to a downward position. Also, when moving the straw from one position to another it tends to become disconnected at the base. Very hard to push it back on. This would be a good bottle for a hiker or cyclist. Just not great for what I got it for.

It’s a life saver
I gave a five star rating because I’m told that it works great for my mother. She is in a care center and I’m not allowed to visit. They seem to be short staffed often. So my mother was becoming dehydrated as she is a quadriplegic. But with this cup she’s able to drink on her own
